Man i wish i still had early 80 yotas , my last one was a mish mash of parts from 1980-84/85 ish , my cousin given me sweet set of recaros fot it , i made bracelets put the seats in but couldn't recline back enough to be really comfortable, so i kept looking at looking and measuring till my buddy said what are you looking at, i had another single cab sitting on the fround beside it, i described my idea , he said no balls lol ,so i pulled off my bed , had a flatbed at the time, i cut off the rear of my cab as far back as i could but where it was still flat, , then on the other cab i cut directly behind the doors, welded it all back together, people would look at the truck funny trying to figure out what was different but then the double vent behind the door gave it away every time , probably gained about 8-10 extra inches of space , the seats reclined perfectly, that truck also had a fiberglass hood i bought at a flea market for $25 ,I think someone had made it but they did a really good job, I ended up buying 6-in lift leaf springs for all the way around rebuilt the front and rear differentials and installed 4.88s , at the time I was running 36/12.50/15s which were big on the street for early 90s, had a 3" body lift on it also, made it easier to work on a little more room , at the time I still had the 22R in it with a Weber carb and a long tube header I found that the scrap yard is it okay because of the gearing but I had plans of either a Chevy V6 or a mild 350 never got around to that though, the bed like I said was a flatbed but my cousin ended up giving me fiberglass fenders off of a F350 dually I built a frame and made it so they were pin on and kind of enclosed the bed😂

That truck was like a billy goat in the woods though I could go anywhere I had first started dating my wife when I have that truck and she said I used to scare the shit out of her when we were off-roading in the woods and up on the rocks

I also did a K20a2 in my car with a MiniTec kit. I am dealing with horrific snap oversteer to the left under throttle. I suspect it's that underdeveloped brace on the front of the frame that ties to the transmission bellhousing. Did you retain that system? I am going to be installing a midplate with a welded tab to the subframe to hopefully control that movement. I will say this, my Mini (his name is Rupert) is a monster.

Hi I have a 83 pickup and I’m thinking of making a build similar to this. I’m new to all this and was wondering if you could answer a few questions. Did you keep the stock front and rear diff? What Toyota transmission and t case did you use? Thank you!
@badgasproductions5 ай бұрын
Hi Sandy welcome … I miss my 81 :( I ran a Toyota 151r v6 Transmission and matching transfer case. The axles/diffs I rebuilt but just a few upgrades .. the center of the diff .. rear was stock, the front I added an electric front locker from a more modern Toyota but that is not needed.. just what I wanted :)

Deflate, Mark … 😂 R.K
@jasonthompson84798 ай бұрын
There is no snow in this video and t-shirt weather. They are prone to the rear bumper rusting away. Front brake calipers have 4 pistons per caliper and if one or more pistons stick then that could be an issue in front brakes. Also the 4WD could be the transfer case actuator or the front differential actuator as the internal limit switches go bad or wiring as I have seen bad/chaffed wires going to front actuator.
@badgasproductions8 ай бұрын
