I finally settled on a LC9 since it fits in my hip belt pocket on my pack nicely. I think a Glock 30 should fit good also, plus it's a good excuse to buy another 🔫🇺🇲

.22 pistol is good like a Ruger LCP UI in .23. Light n effective at the range the FBI crime statistics say most instances happen (1-6 ft).

Keep it bro. It’s a great gun. I have smaller hands too and it took some tweaking with my grip to get it sitting and feeling right so I could pull it out of the holster intuitively. For what you get and what you pay it’s a great value. I paid 1600 Canadian for mine right before the buying stoppage kicked in so for 800 American I would not be complaining at all. That kind of money here will get you a smith and Wesson M&P on a good day. I actually like the skeletonized trigger. It breaks crisp and does not have a ton of creep. Compared to my other 320s it’s a significant upgrade. I’ve put a 1000 rounds of various ammo through mine without any issues. I bought it as a competition gun and have not felt like I was at a disadvantage competing with guys who owned more expensive set ups. I would give the gun a second chance, I don’t think you will regret it. I liked the comment you made about just being a regular guy who likes to shoot a lot. That fits most shooters to a T I think. 😬👍

Has your opinion on the APX changed at all? Is it still your nightstand gun? The ergonomics of it look very similar to the HK VP9 (which I use and love) so I've been interested in this gun as of late, especially for the very affordable price they are currently listed at. Thanks.

Does it look/feel bulky compared to a conventional kydex holster?
@2ndjourneyfirearms8783 жыл бұрын
Yes it is a little thicker than kydex. It’s very comfortable for fall/winter carry though. For hot weather, I’d stick with kydex personally.

It is worth watching the video tour of the Grado Labs manufacturing rooms in Brooklyn. I get the impression of a fine family firm. It reminded me a bit of the video of the Miura family in Japan who make golf clubs - again, not to everyone’s taste, but they are the best at what they do. I love them, but have others that are generally easier to live with - both headphones and golf clubs: just like, you wouldn’t have a Ferrari as your only family car.

Is this by any chance the apx carry model? I have they Apx full 4.25 inch model, just wondering is this holster will fit the full sized model APX
@2ndjourneyfirearms8783 жыл бұрын
Hey TG, no this isn’t the APX carry. That is a single stack small pistol. The one I reviewed does fit all the full size APX holsters I have though.

With the right holster a 686+ with a 4" barrel is carryable. I have several holsters that make it easy to carry. Inside the waist band is too heavy.

@Desperado32483 жыл бұрын
This is not a 357 frame gun. Is it strong enough. Yes, but there is no need to use 357 in small frame revolver. The short barrel is not going to give you 357 velocity. You will get 457 blast and recoil. You can get adequate self defense performance from this revolver and that is what it is for. Buffalo Bore 158 plus p 158 gas check lhp will give you 1050 fps . 135 gold dits around 900 fps plus. More than adequate defense rounds in a small package. I have carried D frame alloy and steel frame 2 inch Colts for years.you need 357, go to a medium frame revolver with a 3-4 inch barrel

Also I bet the problem with your light primer strikes was a late cylinder lockup timing issue. Colts with the true classic double leaf spring action like these use are notorious for late cylinder lockup at first. It causes a lot of primer strikes off center. The beautiful thing about these Colt revolvers though is that they wear themselves into perfect timing with use. My new Cobra was the exact same with light strikes at first. New King and Python have had the issue too. People don't realize they're dealing with a Rolex.

Great point. I still have it and runs like a top.

Absolutely LOVE my new Cobra. These new Colts are wayyy better than their late 80's - late 90's revolvers. The original King Cobra and Anaconda are cool but so glad Colt brought the double leaf spring back.
