Oh lord, my knees are shaking watching this. I rode Joe's ridge (20) years ago at 41, not knowing about the steep decline on the other side. At the time, I was an intermediate rider on a 1990's hardtail Cannondale & it was only God Almighty who kept me from dying. Once I hit the top & it was too late to turn around, it was do or die. My butt was literally dropped behind my seat literally feeling the back tires so I wouldn't endo over the handle bars & praying the whole time, with alternate braking. Truly scariest thing I've ever ridden. Thanks for videoing as a reminder for the terror of that day...laughing.

No trail is for anyone who can't wear a helmet properly. Back up to the basics as you will send folks into danger with your lack of experience and understanding of the situation you are in. Breathing heavily in first 30seconds of film roll should tell you everything you need to know this "sherpa". Please change the name of channel to more closely algn with what you are doing. "Ameature MTBing rad trails above our abilities" sounds about right even with all those syllables.

Excellent video! Great job riding Tina! Those trails are brutal. When Sue and I went there many years ago, we knew Slickrock was originally designed for motorcycles, and with that in mind, we hiked the trail a bit to see what it was all about. We decided it didn't look like much fun so we walked back to the car. But, if folks are looking for the "Slickrock" experience without the high difficulty factor, we suggest Klondike Bluffs Trail, about 23 miles north of Slickrock. It has easier "slickrock" trails, scenic views and fossilized DINOSAUR footprints in the slickrock!!!

Agreed 110% on the "it's not for everyone" statement! I was out in the spring and our group rode Slickrock as the final "lap" of a long week of riding in and around all of Moab. The entrance and the practice loop give a hint of what's ahead in the full loop, but don't really tell the whole story IMO. It was a brutal day riding for me, as I was just physically and mentally spent at that point in the week, but I look back on it now as a bucket list ride that I checked off the list. It's not for everyone, but I had dreamt about Moab in my near 30 years of mtb'ing and am glad to say I rode Slickrock...once!
@MTBTrailSherpa6 ай бұрын
Very well put! I can only imagine how brutal it would be after a long week of riding. Glad I could say I rode at least some of it.
