How cool! Where's the PDF of the line drawing? I don't find it on your website. Can you provide it for me? I'd love to do this at my library program!

Boysenberries are my favorite! Your berries look like my uncle’s when I was a kid. I’m inspired to plant more this year because wild blackberries took over so I finally cut them back. I have 4 plants that have been covered by the wild Himalayan berries. I have Tayberries too. Only 2 plants. I’m going to buy Loganberries, Tayberries and more Boysenberries. I saw that a 100 acre blueberry farm near us bulldozed hundreds of large plants so I asked and got 5 freebies. I would have taken more but they were massive and my son and I were tired. They were over 6 feet tall with large root balls. We have 30 blueberry plants now. 4 are tiny Pink lemonade plants about 4” tall. I have raspberries too. Red and yellow. I need more Boysenberries so I can make jam and give them away like my uncle did. He always had more raspberries and blackberries than he needed so he could share. When he finally died hundreds of people came to his funeral and many spoke because he was such a great guy. He’s inspired me to plant more Boysenberries! Great video! Thanks

Love the kitty footage. Also enjoy the closeups! Surprised at the tight-knit growth pattern of your plants as ive seen others typicslly space them out for more particular growth styling.

I was ten when I last ate fresh boysenberries. That's when my parents had a boysenberrie bush. And my dad I ordered boysenberries waffles now that restaurant no longer makes boysenberrie waffles. I wish I could find fresh boysenberries again.

Do you ever have problems with birds and rodents eating the berries? Also would you say they are more tart than blackberries?
@SunflowerHillOrg2 жыл бұрын
The Boysenberries are a little more tangy and juicier than blackberries. At Sunflower Hill, we haven't had too many problems with rodents or birds eating our berries. Birds definitely snack on occasion, but overall our pest population is taken care of by our resident garden cat, Shadow. You can find her video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pV6YqqiCibSMg9U

When you save seed from your zinnia flowers are the resulting flowers true to the parents or different? I would think that if these are hybrid zinnias, the flowers from their seed will be the same as one of the parents. My favorite zinnias are Empress, Envy and other pink and peach colors., but all of them are quite beautiful!

Beautiful zinnia color choices! We don't sort our seeds by colors so we just have a mixed-color beds!

We grew Johnny's Procut Orange Sunflowers and a zinnia mix from Renee's Garden (I believe they were moulin rouge and cabaret) last year. This year we are growing a bunch of sunflowers - lot's of Johnny's procut series. We're also growing zinnias again - Benary's Giant Mix. Be sure to subscribe to our channel so you don't miss any of our Garden Update videos!

What is a nitrogen nodule on the roots?
@SunflowerHillOrg3 жыл бұрын
Great question! Nitrogen nodules are the product of a mutually beneficial relationship between the fava bean roots and a naturally occurring bacteria that is found in the soil. The bacteria, with the help of the fava bean roots, pull nitrogen from the air and into the soil to store in 'nodules', which are those little round balls we saw on the fava roots. When the fava bean plant dies, the nodules release their nitrogen into the soil, which then nourishes future plants!
