The People magazine cover where they had to guess the famous face, the clue should have been "Mackenzie's step-mother." Mackenzie's mother was Susan Adams - John Phillips' first wife. If this episode had been on four years later, they could have had the clue "Chynna's mother." Looking at the end credits, producer John Tobyansen was the executive producer of The Joker's Wild on CBS from 1972 to early 1975. Contestant coordinator Esther Furst held that same job during Joker's CBS years.

Ok, let's go back in time 35 years and change the rules. Lol. Personally, I think they made the bonus round fairly easy so as many teams as possible would win the $5K. It was a generous amount but not a huge prize compared to other game shows of that era.

Well, I liked Headline Chasers because, even if you lost the game, which we did, you got to keep whatever money you accumulated during the show. Also, my timing was spot on. They were in need of contestants when the show was still fairly new, and I think from the time I contacted them until the day we actually taped the show, it was only a few weeks. Everything happened quickly. And I have seen Wink since. I did a runthrough for another game show he came up with, and in 1999 I interviewed Wink on the radio. I was doing a live broadcast from Pasadena and Wink came out in person to guest on the show, and his lovely wife Sandy came along too. Very nice people.
