Great explanation. Seems that you are working on this technology for a long time.

hi Rohan, great content as always! much appreciated. Just wanted to pitch in here at 1:03:00, you said that the TCP connection would need to be terminated if the Seq numbers get exhausted. I just did a search on Copilot and saw that there is a mechanism called TCP wraparound which means it simply wraps around and starts again from 0. This process is called "sequence number wraparound." Much appreciated content

as you said SPI will not go in phase-1 messages then how its visible on Wireshark? Is that wrong information ? check 40:40 and 48:32 and you are referring information given as cookies 31:45 and telling on SPI 48:32 and if you are referring phase-1 SPI means "cookies" then how can phase-2 SPI would be same as phase-1?
@gp_shukla21 күн бұрын
When he said SPI will be 0 for all the phase 1 messages actually he was referring to the SPI size not Initiator SPI/Cookies. SPI/cookies can't be 0, (*in 1st message expect responders SPI) 2. In a single negotiation there will be only one/unique Initiator cookie throughout the phase 1&2 If it is different in single negotiation means timeout or negotiation restarted

@gp_shukla yes I know the answer and I wanted this to correct in the video... There should no if/but/assumptions.. If someone who does not know will watch the video carefully then he will think how SPI is visible in wireshark in phase-1.. Or there should be some notes below which can help for these corrections

A quick comment , zscaler says : "All web traffic is first evaluated in the firewall module and only if it passes the firewall module (i.e., if it didn't violate any firewall policies), it's forwarded to the web module where the traffic is evaluated against the web policies. " i understand that regardless of the type of traffic , firewall module must be passed first.

When first udp packet is sent how firewall identifies it as first packet and sends it to slowpath
@souravsethu18202 ай бұрын
Bro u got the answer?
@justsumname21 күн бұрын
with any stateful firewall... if the UDP packet does not match any current sessions, it will assume it is a new UDP packet for a new UDP session. Some firewalls call it 'session table' or 'session database' but here, it's called Slowpath. I guess PA just wanted to name it their own word
