In 2016, Medeama beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2:0 in the 2nd Leg to qualify 3:3 aggregate on away goals rule in the CAF Confederation Cup Final Qualifier but Sundowns won a case against Vita Club and went back to the CAF Champions League which Sundowns later won that year by beating Zamalek 3:1 on aggregate..Medeama nearly qualified to the semis of the CAF Confederation Cup but lost a final match to an Algeria team, MO Bejaia in Algeria 1:0..Medeama is normally serious, more confident and tactical when it comes to Africa. The stadium has an artificial pitch, it was renovated for the U-17 WC years ago. Artificial turf is expensive but not ideal for the players' health, the soil and the water underneath it.

Very small but beautiful stadium covered one. I don't believe Ghanaian building a huge stadium but very small like 25000 capacity so that maintenance will be easy because our maintenance culture is poor
