I think this could be a great federal law to stimulate growth across the US, especially with housing where there is a Nationwide shortage. I saw Trump trying to promote it but I think that since it's the brainchild of a Democrat of color that Kamala Harris should be the one to make this happen. Hello, I'm 36 years old and I've lived in Alabama all my life. But I did see this video and I am interested in learning more about foster care and adoption and the entire process. I'm not ready to fill out a form or anything because I have to take this one step at a time with my husband. And discuss when is the best time to start the process. And I wonder how long it usually takes from starting the process and actually adopting a baby boy or baby girl in Alabama. I just want to learn about the entire process, the requirements, the cost and how long it can take sometimes to find a newborn baby boy or newborn baby girl or 4-7 months old. And if you adopt twins, is it alright if they share 1 decent size bedroom together? I don't know what the requirements need to be if my husband and I were to both decide to adopt a baby boy or baby girl. Or twin babys. But we can provide a safe, clean and loving home for a child with a bedroom all to themselves. And room to sleep, play and study for school when they are older. And provide according to their needs to the best of our ability. Plus my husband has a very large family and siblings lots of cousins and 2nd cousins he is close to that are kids and I have young nephew and nieces. So any child we are blessed with will be happily recieved and loved by this big family who supports one another and is there for each other. And they will have young cousins to grow up with. Do some start out as foster parents and sometimes decide to adopt the one they have fostered? How much does it cost to adopt? Is the cost the same no matter how young or old the child is? If we were to adopt a baby, and I decide to either only work part time or be a stay at home mom for a couple of years since my husband works full time, is that an issue that an adoption agency will have any problems with? Im sure they do a criminal record, and my husband and I have a clean record and have not been in trouble with the law. We also do not allow drugs or alcohol in our home. We are highly against it. Neither of us has any children. And I'm in my 30s. And we have been married for 17 years. And we are in good health. I imagine that it's hard to find adoption for a newborn baby boy and newborn baby girl, so is it best to fill out a form as soon as possible and get on a waiting list? And how many months will go by before a social worker would come out to your home to see your home and the provided room you have for a child? What are some questions we can be expected to ask and what all does a social worker look for in both the house and the potential adoptive parents? Do they require you to make a certain yearly income? Any information you can give me or send me by email I would greatly appreciate. I have a gmail account and can msg you if you give me your email. Also, can you tell me more info on how to be a foster parent and requirements etc? Or perhaps share a link to a page I can read about what to do and who to call. I live in Winfield Alabama.
