Totally mesmerised and inspired by this when I first saw it...they were never an 'indie' band for me...this is hardcore and she was a trailblazer for early Riot Grrrl...

I was at that gig (Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt) it was really good. Deliberately wore a Ride T Shirt and stood near the front as they had a rivalry with Ride at the time and wanted to wind them up, must say of the two Birdland were the better live band at the time, I also saw them a few years later at the Newcastle Riverside and they were dire, were like a different band.
