T1 diabetic 66 years. Medtronic has the worst CGM system with all that tape. I have the 670G MiniMed pump now and it's out of warrenty. I use the Libre 2 CGM and it's so easy to use, just apply to back of arm, Push the buttons and its in your arm with no pain, no calibrations needed and wait one hour for glucose reading from it and good for 14 days. My 680G pump is out of warrenty so I hope that Libre new CGM will connect to the new 780G insulin Medtronic insulin pump. I've always loved Medtronic customer care service and hope that they can help me use the New Libre CGS to be able to use it.❤

Hi there. Details about the availability of the integrated sensor will be shared as our partnership with Abbott progresses.
@11wtwood2 күн бұрын
Two things I do differently is... 1: I don't remove the needle until after I remove the backing on the sensor. That way I can use it as something to hold the sensor in place while trying to remove the backing which doesn't always come off easily and requires some fiddling to get it to release from the adhesive patch without tearing and leaving pieces behind. Then I pull out the needle in order to apply the first oval tape. 2: I wait until the pump prompts me to start the new sensor before I apply the second tape. I do this first, because you never know when it is going to refuse to connect, and I may have to remove the transmitter and put it back on the charger to reinitialize it. Also, it seems, if I start putting the second tape on right away, the pump prompts me to start the new sensor while I'm still busy with the tape and anyone who's used these pumps for a while knows how naggy and annoying it gets when you don't respond IMMEDIATELY.

T1 diabetic 66 years and sorry to say Medtronic has the worst CGM. I love my Libre 2 CGM with no calibrations just wait 1 hour and it's good to go for 14 days. No pulling the tape and making it smooth. Just open the Libre 2 and put it on back of arm, push the buttons on the sides and it inserts with no pain just let it sit on arm for 5 seconds lift off and your good to go, no messed up tape involved at all. One hour later you can get your glucose reading. I have to get new insulin pump as my old Medtronic Minimed 780G pump is out of warranty now. Hope Medtronic has the Libre new sensor that will connect to the 780G insulin pump, otherwise I will have to go to t-slim insulin pump. I've always loved Medtronic customer care service so I hope this happens that they will let Libre CGM system connect to MiniMed 680G pump.😃

Altho I am just starting on this journey with Medtronic at 75 years old, I am trying to learn as much and as quickly as I can. I have found a freedom with my Medtronic pump user that I have never had in my type 1 life. While I was also born with a heart defect and have to factor that into my pump use; this is the first time ever I have felt close to normal! I am so motivated!

It seems like we are taking steps backwards with the 780 pump/sensor combo. Medtronic reps are very hesitant to be honest about the product or pricing. I've been a Medtronic pump user for a out 11 years now and they just can't seem to make a good sensor.

@MedtronicDiabetesUS the reps have changed their story every time I contacted them. After saying my replacement pump was fully covered (after checking with my Dr) it wasn't and they didn't even get a pre Auth with my insurance company. Every dollar out of pocket now isn't even being applied to my deductible. Mind you, this was a replacement pump after my 870 just malfunctioned one morning. I feel like I would've picked Omnipod if the reps didn't lie about being fully covered.

I have been on the 780g and guardian 4 for 7 months and I am so pleased with the system. My A1c has improved as well. ❤ I do wish that the transmitter would charge faster because the Smart Guard would be active quicker. I don’t want to sacrifice accurate readings for a quicker warmup time, so I just have to wait on it 🕰️.

It is no way as simple as shown in this video. To put it on properly on the back of the arm, away from muscle, you will need help from a partner. Medtronics needs to improve the attachment of the sensor and the tapes used.

@Medtronic Diabetes Here is some customer feedback for the Guardian 4 sensors based on 6 months of usage. Warm up time Warm up time is 2 hours for Guardian sensor Warm up time is 1 hour for Free Style Libre 1 hour Sensor updating This message pops up often This reduces the time when one has a glucose reading It effectively reduces the working life of the sensor It effectively raises the price of the sensor There is no such issue with Free Style Libre Sensor life Guardian sensor last 7 days vs 14 days for free style libre This effectively makes it half as convenient and twice as expensive Premature Failure Often the Guardian 4 sensor does not last 7 days Sometime the change sensor message appears after 2 days! Install convenience Guardian 4 sensor install procedure for back of arm is very cumbersome Free Style Libre is FAR easier to install Cost For my health plan, Guardian sensor costs more than 3 times as much as Free Style Libre sensor Impact on A1c Impact on A1C is marginal meal-detection/auto-correction is way over-rated the auto-correction works far too slowly Supply issue There have been occasions when supplies have been back-ordered. This is scary. Never had this issue with Free Style Libre My assessment at this point: The Guardian 4 sensor is not worth the extra cost or the hassle of frequent "sensor update" or calling customer service to request replacements.

@medtronic Just a note towards the end your instructing users to purge air bubbles into their line as if it was a new infusion line then telling them they dont need to do a canula fill step if this was followed it would likely result in air bubbles stuck in the canula
@MedtronicDiabetesUSАй бұрын
We recommend following the steps listed in the instructions that come with your infusion set. You can also refer to the quick reference guide specific to your insulin pump by going to www.medtronicdiabetes.com/Extended.
@kilamb984Ай бұрын
@@MedtronicDiabetesUS sure but you have this video posted which people will be following as a guide endorsed by the manufacturer and this seems to be a clear oversight with the steps being repeated from the start of the video, its pretty concerning to dismiss this and say its not a issue because we should be following a different guide when users safety is at risk
@MedtronicDiabetesUSАй бұрын
Hi again, that portion of the video is referring to a reservoir-only change in which case filling the cannula may result in the delivery of too much insulin. If you have additional questions, you can contact our Technical Support team at 1-800-646-4633, option #1. Thank you.

I have been on an insulin pump since 2004. The 780g system does give me peace of mind. I am so thankful that I have frequently had 💯 percent time in range days since making the switch from the T-Slim. My life is so much better now and I have much less variability with my numbers. In response to the child featured in this video- young man you are very intelligent and being on a 780g and sensor and keeping your glucose controlled is greatly reducing your chances of getting long term complications of diabetes. ❤ Keep up the good work young man.
