Well, I mean its 5 years so...

Pilot alastor feels far more lively and energetic. I'd say this is maybe due to some change in the plot. Perhaps originally alastor's soul wasn't owned by anyone which explains why he felt genuinely more confident. On the other hand his act feels more forced in the actual show.

I adored the extravagance of Alastor in the pilot. He had so much energy and personality. Not only was its radio filter much better and noticeable, but he also had a much broader and creative use of radio sound effects such as laugh tracks and instrumentations that added so much to his expressiveness. Series Alastor is okay, but man would I've loved to see this pilot take on the character instead.

Did anyone else notice that no sinner has entered heaven until AFTER Adam wrote down some rules for it? He definitely stuck it to the man here, didn't steal and acted selfless. Surely over the thousands of years since Hells creation at least one desperate sinner demon has tried this. Lucifer even alludes to it in his song with Charlie, of trying to rehabilitate sinners before. I might be making that up in my head though

am i the only one who prefers the new alastor? he was way too goofy in the pilot, it was hard to take him seriously, and while i know that's kind of the point, i think it was done better in the actual show. he's energetic without being clowny, and always feels menacing

Did anyone notice the step that Vox took before he hugged Val and Velvette? It looked like the floor cracked, or distorted, or something

In the pilot episode, Alastor tended to provoke others and play with their emotions, which gave a wonderful character to his provocative personality, in addition to the clearer voice of the pilot episode, which you can notice as the sound of a real radio, amazing sound effects and frequencies placed in the background, and the character of mystery in his actions that suggest a real devil. Therefore, I hope they repeat the character of Alastor in the second part, as they did in the pilot episode.

The new Alastor seems somewhat... Insecure, always trying to compensate a lack of something by being an ass who thinks of everyone as inferior to him, always wanting to do things his way, ignoring most people, using those he does not. He's an ass. The old Alastor was much more twisted, instead of trying to compensate for something, he was just being an entertainer, being surprisingly nice to people around, not taking anything seriously. The smile was genuine, always happy, always bubbly, while maintaining a "Fuck around and find out" idea. In short, the old Alastor was a leader, a true 20s style broadcaster with a nearly exaggerated excitement in his voice. The new one, as I said twice already, is an ass. His character doesn't really go that much further, he's an ass because he's forced to be where he is. He's sadly bland now, and that's coming from someone who watched the pilot dozens of time just for Al

My only disappointment was we never got to see the Death Ray the egg boys have been hyping up.

I liked old Alastor more. He had more of a silly attitude, but also his voice made me scared of him because I could TELL that he was a bad person but he covered it so well for me until I watched the pilot a few times, the radio effect and the show-host personality really pulled his whole thing together as well as the other sound effects. I also enjoyed it when he had less simps.

I feel like this scene was leading up to showing us how powerful Alastor really just to have him get whooped by Adam in the finale. Kinda disappointing and lackluster tbh

Interesting thing to note. When Alistair transforms he grows stag horns. This is, theologically, a symbol of god who is said to be represented by a noble stag. Alistair also has a red X on his forehead which seems to appear when he starts feeling malicious or is expensing power, this could be a hint at him having a mark of cain which is a mark given by god to adam and eves son cain and is supposed to be a symbol that the person is trully damned and is marked by god as an enemy
