It was a loan from Fresh Pond depot, Gun Hill needed more buses due to the Bx90

You'd be correct, the rest of them are either training buses, in storage, transferred to JFK depot, or have gotten scrapped/stripped

Awesome Video! Thank you for posting this! I was born in Flushing. I spent every summer in my childhood in Flushing. We would regularly take the MTA Bus up to the Bronx Zoo. The Q44 I believe. One of my favorite bus rides. Please keep posting these videos.

As of today April 2nd, 2024 NYCT Bus has 67 Orion VII Next Gens and MTA Bus company has 266 of them. With an overall of 333 of them left within the New York City transit system with many of them being moved around, the bus shown in the video #4029 had been moved from Eastchester depot (Assigned at the time the video was taken) to JFK Bus depot

Wow bae systems has come a long way. The old buses sounded like alien spaceships and the modern ones actually sound really nice, like electric buses that happen to have an engine.

Currently the Orion Next Gens in the MTA are retiring, especially the ones from MTA NYCT Bus depots which only have a few months left. Meanwhile the ones from MTA Bus Company depots (Like #4022) are meant to retire between Summer 2023 and sometime in 2024. MTA Bus Company will continue to have Orion Next Gens until 2024 unlike MTA NYCT Bus (2 seperate companies but are owned by the MTA)
