Exactly how does fiber have polarity? First of all it doesn't, fiber is a medium. The SFP is the beginning of the "polarity." If you need to flip/change polarity/roll the fiber it isn't the fibers fault. The fault is either in the new configuration or the SFP. If the problem wasn't there before the upgrade to the device then it was the configuration that caused the SFP to flip the polarity. And light doesn't have a polarity. Why are we purposefully misusing words. This makes no sense. And why does the time of the all the techs on the call have to be wasted when the person making the configuration is at fault. Does that software engineer know how much time he's wasting of his customers because of his lack of engineering? Is the software engineer purposefully creating issues that he'll never have to address. Just the techs on the teams call and the devices OEM customer service. I’m having a problem with my tester, the cat 6 lines pass permalink test but it shows an additional connection point in the middle of the cable which is not there. Examined and didn’t find damage. Has anyone run into this before? Meter was recently calibrated. Any idea why it would show connection points that don’t exist?
