Lovely- I’ve a Keely bass compressor (10/10) anguilar octimizer (still getting it dialed in) and tech 21 VT Bass all following a TC Mini polytuner. Gotta luv pedals! Cool stuff outta your muffs!!! All three of them! Thanks for the run through

I have a question, I'm using a behringer bdi21 v tone currently, how can I run my pedal board to FOH? I tried plugging an xlr cable on my behringer bdi 21, it only used that pedal, my other pedals were not being used at all. I also tried plugging an xlr cable on my rumble, it wasnt going to FOH but then it only still went to my amp.

@@crusoeishere4290 hello mate! Double check where this pedal is in the signal chain. If you want your entire setup going to front of house, then your modeller/DI will need to be last in the signal chain.
@harshlanguage4 ай бұрын
I don’t have the model you’re talking about but have a look at the outputs. If it’s already at the end of the chain and the issue is about outputs, it could be that the model doesn’t allow you to run two separate outputs. If you’re going to front of house, try the XLR straight into the house DI/multicore and forgo your amp completely. You can get a mix through the monitors if you’re nice to the sound engineer. I’d be interested to hear how you get on! Let me know!

@@harshlanguage Thanks mate I'm quite stupid LMAO I just realized this not too long ago, idk if u can get what I'm saying but I think it's because of how my pedals are put and cabled. So usually the bass should go into your tuner, but I was stupid enough to send the amp to the tuner first then at the end of the chain I send my preamp to my bass. I haven't tested it yet because all of my gear is at my band's studio but I'll update when I have the chance! Again thanks for the advice!

@@phillramirez8323 appreciate your comment thank you! The sansamp is great, it’s not a cheap piece of kit but it really does a job. Especially if you’re into that classic Ampeg or Fender sound. Incidentally I’ve changed a lot of things since this vid, we are actually filming an update next week which will feature Sean’s guitar set up too. We’ll still keep on repping the low end though!

Great board. The only complaint I have with the Sansamp is you can't turn off the speaker emulation, so it doesn't work for everything. But it is pretty cool.

Thank you! To be honest I’m not entirely sure anymore. I bought them years ago, they were a cheap eBay purchase I think. A big pack of 10 or something. I think I lucked out because they’re pretty well shielded and I’ve never suffered with noise or bad shielding or anything. I’m fully subscribed to the school of “buy cheap, buy twice” but at that time money was especially tight.

Greetings. I have a question about the M87 Compressor. Is it normal that the LED maxes out when you power the pedal? It doesn't stay on like that after that but only when turning on the power supply. No other issues whatsoever.
@robgreen18182 жыл бұрын
Oh, is your LED getting brighter when you plug your power supply in? That’s not something that happens with mine, could be a surge issue perhaps or maybe an issue inside the pedal with shielding?? If it affects the performance of the pedal I’d consider getting in touch with the manufacturer.

Hey bud! Enjoyed the vid. Just thought I’d say that I’ve been using the MXR bass compressor for a few years, and it’s a great pedal, but I recently ‘upgraded’ to the Empress Bass Compressor, and in my opinion it’s quite a substantial improvement! If you get a chance to try one out I’d recommend you do so. One other pedal to try is the Blackstone Mosfet Overdrive pedal. It just adds the perfect (for me) amount of grind I was always looking for. It’s no fuzz pedal for sure, but I realise now after trying so many fuzzes, that’s not the right path for me. I put it through a Wetter box to allow me to blend between clean/distortion, but tbh, if I’m playing rock, I can dial it in and it just be an ‘always on’ effect. Love it. Great pedal, easy to use, maintains the bass very well, and I love the knobless pot design! No chance of knocking it accidentally.

Thanks for the nice video. One question though, why put the compressor at the beginning? I would expect it on the end.
@harshlanguage2 жыл бұрын
To be honest it was mostly a case of experimenting and playing around until I found something I liked. I did a bit of reading up on compression and I’ve seen articles suggesting both first and last in the chain. There may be a “technically correct” answer but I’ve found that this particular way, works for me personally. What are your thoughts? Does compressing last work better for you?

@@harshlanguage thanks for your response 😀I had the same and read both options. I dont have that many pedals but for me In the beginning of the chain works best too.

Why a delay on bass? One of These Days Pink Floyd 😀
@harshlanguage2 жыл бұрын
I think delay pedals can be really interesting on bass pedal boards. As I mentioned in the video, I’ve done my fair share of session work and it’s come in handy on a few occasions through that. It gets used pretty extensively in the current HL set too since we are a three-piece and it can really help fill a space, musically. Also I’m a big Tool fan so having a delay pedal speaks for itself. That said I’m fairly sure Justin Chancellor doesn’t use a Mirror Image, it just looked cool in the shop window.

Greetings Rob, great presentation of your bass pedal board. I recently purchased a SansAmp bass DI and have it at the end of the signal chain much like yours. However it produces some noise or hiss sound. I noticed yours does not. Is there something else I may be missing in the process? I also moved it around the board at different locations and front signal chain and still get noise. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks
@harshlanguage2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Excess noise is usually down to one of a few things in my experience. It can be a bad earth somewhere, which is when you have more than one connection to ground. It tends to give off the famous 50hz hum. Solving that is usually down to checking your pedals to find the culprit and ensuring it’s suitably shielded. The kind of power supply you are operating has a massive impact too. Cheaper Chinese knockoffs are great for the wallet but not so great audio-wise. I personally use a one-spot but there are other suppliers on the market that do an equally good job of providing nice, quiet power to your board. Another factor with noise is the patch cables you’re using. Again it’s down to how much you spend, the cheaper kinds are again very nice financially but are usually poorly made and can potentially result in very noisy, hissy signal paths. I bought slightly nicer patch cables to make sure this didn’t happen. I’m not real expert, these are just things I’ve dealt with in my own personal experience. People qualified in electrics will have a much better understanding of why these things happen.
