Couldn't agree more :( damn shame. And yeah it does really show that even games that are cheaper and have higher production costs have done better

I don't remember the last time I was so disappointed in a production. The company went the cheap route with everything, and it makes me not even want to play it. I was so excited to play this one (I played the Brazil version), but as soon as I opened it, I decided to put it back on the shelf. The game, itself, is terrific.
@meepleminded950814 күн бұрын
Perfectly said tbh. We love the games but that production is a stain on the games name. I feel for the original publisher as stuff like this will bring the games credibility down as a whole.

Hello Meeple Minded. Thanks for the review. You explained it very well. I would have loved to make the acrylic pieces but that would have skyrocketed the initial production price (making the molds) and with what I got in the kickstarter campaign it was unfeasible. The production cost of 1500 units, as I did, is not the same as making 10,000 (within the reach of the big publishers) AlienS games is a very small publisher, it's just me trying to get my own games out there. ;-) Best regards

River Valley Glassworks hasn’t started fulfilling in the UK yet 😢
@meepleminded95083 ай бұрын
That's awful :/ hate it when it becomes available to the public before the loyal backers receive there copies. Jason has a copy of theme park mania that hasn't been fulfilled, yet it's also for sale at essen spiel.
@jenniferEdwards-cox3 ай бұрын
Yeah. Same with Rebirth and Hamlet by the Lake! It does put you off backing games. Enjoy Day2!
@Simon_BoardStupid3 ай бұрын
If it helps, it's only retail editions of Rebirth available at Essen (& pickup of KS edition as advertised). I understand the frustration but publishers would be mad to not sell at the biggest game show in the world
@jenniferEdwards-cox3 ай бұрын
Ah for the cost of a plane ticket to Germany, I could have saved myself the wait and postage costs! Joking aside I understand that publishers want to sell their new games at Essen and other conventions. Hamlet by the Lake is running 3 months late, so that doesn’t help. Seeing the game you backed (and paid for) for sale years/months before you have the same game delivered to your door leaves a bad taste; Spirit Island’s latest expansion was in store 9 months before backers in the UK had their copies due to VAT and shipping issues. It does all feed into whether it is worth backing some kickstarter projects or whether it is better to just skip the shiny bits and buy the retail version.
@Simon_BoardStupid3 ай бұрын
@@jenniferEdwards-cox I can't argue with that, the crowdfunding timelines can get really bad (particularly for us in the UK). Some publishers go out of their way to ensure backers always get theirs first, others aren't so careful. I mostly go retail for that reason, though it is nice to help get a smaller game created

I agree that there are no real negatives in this game. I love all modules so I wouldn't have left them out from the base game (to lower the price) as suggested.
@meepleminded95082 жыл бұрын
Hey Max, thanks for your comments. I mean the fact the modules are included is pretty cool. The only reason I (Jason) mentioned I'd maybe of not included them is purely and simply on a finance front. With people wanting to spend less on their games it just provides that option, conversely I never really mentioned on recording but the business side of my brain also says the company would likely make more money this way as no doubt they would actually sell the modules for more money haha .

I'm interested to see how the mechanics of the board game function. Unfortunately, for me I'm not really a fan of the theme of the board game. In general, climate awareness/climate change or "saving the planet" themed games are a turn off for me, however, if the mechanics are fun and keep me engaged I'll definitely be interested. Looking forward to the follow up vid!

Understandable - though it might peak your interest to know that 50% of profits from this game will be going to 6 organisations (one for each sector within the game) who are making real every day change to our own world. We're not cashing in on a popular topic, we genuinely wish to educate and make a change with this game :) Whilst also having fun, of course!

Awesome! I remember the day Laurie explained the idea for Earth Rising to me and I just sat there blown away at how he'd concocted the idea for such an in depth game within hours of watching the 2040 film - a large inspiration for him.
