Michael Madsen must be the worst actor in history--his only talent is being able to move his eyebrows up and down...

I remember seeing this for the first time and loved it but didn’t understand the point of the conversation. But after watching it a second time, it reveals each characters trait especially Mr. Orange. He was the only one that ratted out mr pink for not tipping. It foreshadowed that Mr orange was the the rat.

One of the first things this movie did was to convince me that Lawrence Tierney and Chris Penn could actually be Father and Son in real life…

It’s obvious Mr. Pink is still jaded from not getting tipped while he was working at McDonald’s. The darker side of deep wounds.😅

The Madonna monologue is insufferable, it's like what guys who don't know anything about women think. But the tipping debate is pure gold.

As somebody from the UK where tipping culture is NOT a thing at all for 'diner-level' establishment, let alone a 'coffee and breakfast' place, this is so off-base for me on a personal/regular-life level but it is STILL utterly brilliant in the sense of story-telling - regardless of where it's set: I WANTED to know how/why these dudes are sitting with each other. Such large characters (and big-name actors NOT clashing) en msasse not fighting for screentime, yet the shots they get can be portrayed in curt lines or an expression when they do have the camera on them is pretty much the peak of recorded film. No "fancy" effects or construed angles, it really feels like you're either AT the table, or right beside it as a fellow diner. QT wastes no time on introducing bit character who serve no long-term purpose. As someone who enjoys writing, it was a short masterclass of a literal: "introduce the plot, main chars/their basic personalities, and HOOK the viewer. Arguably, out of the near-9 min video, he did that in around 3-4. I can't stand to watch the man waffle in interviews, but he's slick as shit when it comes to his craft.

If, even in 2024, this scene still makes your heart race, then you, too, are a warrior of vengeance. Raise your thumbs instead of a sword

I am always amazed that for good of a writer and director, Quentin Tarantino is always the worst actor in any scene he's in. Just horrible.

Mr. Pink eloquently explained EXACTLY how I feel about the whole tipping business. The only difference between us is that I'll "play ball," as he called it. The reason is because the drastic measures it would likely take to change things for the better in regards to waiters/waitresses needing their tips to survive are measures that most of society won't take, thus my own personal efforts would be for naught. So in the end, despite agreeing with his every word, when I have the extra cash, it's easier to just shut the fuck up and tip.

Easily overlooked in this scene is that bill is either lying or ignorant about the number of the crazy 88. In reality there were much more than 88 gangsters required for that limb chopping scene

Quentin Tarantino was the first to speak in his first movie. I think it would be a poetic book end if in his last movie, he says the final bit of dialogue.

The fact that Bud lied about selling his Hanzo Sword, does that mean that he did actually keep up his hand to hand combat skills and sword fighting...? The fact that he was able to sense her when she was close by his trailer indicates that he did keep his abilities honed to some extent...
