My daughter got diagnosed on October 17, 2024 at which time she was hospitalized at only 30 months of age. To be honest, I see no positive in that. However, if I were to look for a positive, this would be it: She won't be growing up on sugary and high carb snacks like most kids in today's world will be. A year earlier, I was at a convention where there was a 27-month old girl whose parents wanted to sit and quiet her down with a full cup of coca cola as well as a plate full of potato chips and chocolate chip cookies. I will have to make sacrifices as to where I take my child from here on, but I definitely will not be shoving sugary and high carb snacks down her throat to shut her up and help her cope with her problems in the moment.

Must have been an update since this video released because I tried this exact procedure and the phone app stopped the 2nd warmup with "No Sensor Restarts". Was really hoping to stretch a month supply of sensor patches out at least another month.

See my problem is that I use both of these combined - along with Cavilon spray and skin tack to help it stick but I still break out in hives and rashes- do you have any other advice?

Im using Dexcom7 with Android for the app and get sensor errors sadly quite often, what usually works for me is 1. In the app, try swap between history or connections and back to Glucose. 2. Try closing out the app and restart it 3. If 1 and 2 dosent work, tap the bluetooth and shut it down and turn it on after 30 sec. (This I have found working for other types off issues Ive seen, like when it won't give new readings of the sugar levels). 4. if 3 didn't work restart the phone. I will try to tap the sensor like someone suggested, My 2 latest sensors won't pair and all my tricks ain't working for this:( that's what brought me here on my new fix search.)
@Rana-KethlaАй бұрын
To add to this, when your sensor won't pair, I found I had a bluetooth list as long as a Monday and removing old pairings helped...that time.

Why do you need to double tape it? The tape in the sensor is pretty strong and I’ve never had a problem with it coming off

That's called idiopathic type 1 and 10% or up to 15%+ if type 1 diabetics fall into that category, at least by the time of diagnosis (antibodies might show later)

I'm lucky and grateful for my endocrinology team! I get major anxiety over the idea of somehow loosing them! Specially knowing all the horror stories so many people experience. There is a serious shortage of endos in the US, and that contributes to provider burn out!

How do you recommend expelling the air bubbles without wasting medication? I get subcu, it's not a huge issue but as you mentioned, missing dosage is more my concern.

Dexcom made a cash-cow out of those transmitters by using a non-rechargeable coin-cell as the battery. Business first. It is possible to install a rechargeable battery- but it's not easy as they made it on purpose difficult to change it. With G7 off course they made certain that nothing can be re-used. So the range is bad because it is cheap = single use (2 weeks). The software changes made on the G7 could already have been be applied using G6 sensors.

I’m nervous about flying. I recently became insulin dependent but my dad doesn’t know. I don’t want him to know at all how sick I am (I know that’s not wise but I’m currently fighting cancer and want to be sure I’m entering hospice before I tell him to worry him) and I’m afraid that they’ll pull them out in front of him in security and he’ll see

Have you tried hitting it really hard with a hammer? If that doesn't work, I use the app on my smart phone an have found several times, when getting the wait 3 hours error, if I turn of the bluetooth connection on my phone, wait say 10 seconds and turn bluetooth back on, I've had my sensor reading again in 10-15 minutes. Also, I see your using the G6. Stay with that as long as possible. I just switched to G7 today and the sensor failed completely (got alert saying to remove it) after less than 3 hours. I've been reading countless complaints online on various websites with many people saying the G7 sensors keep failing on them. One person said two sensors failed in the warm up time and another said 7 of the 9 he received all failed in only few days. I'm going to switch back to G6 if that is what I encounter. G6 worked perfect for me for years. I don't know why they always make things worse in supposed upgrades. I talked to Dexcom support today. They asked me if I had taken Tylenol today. I'm recovering from surgery, I told them yes. They told me taking Tylenol can cause sensors to stop working with the G7. I took Tylenol when wearing G6. Never killed a sensor. Also the sensor wire length is shorter on the G7, making it easier to pull out. I'm so pissed about all of it. It's already hard dealing daily with all my medical issues and disabilities. I don't need this BS on top of it. Anyways, best of luck to you.

So my 13 yr old son was diagnosed with T1D about a year ago, he doesn’t often have Lows, more often at night, but he can honestly say he doesn’t feel low. He doesn’t feel shaky, he doesn’t feel. He only knows because his CGM tells him he’s going low.

My fiancé was recently diagnosed (Jan 4th 2023) with type 1. Jan 29th of this year he was hospitalized for DKA for a week. His sugar was 1,250. His white blood count was 600. His A1C was at a 12 or a 12.5.. can’t remember the exact number. How this boy was still able to walk (drunkenly) to my car and into the hospital, no one can understand that. He’s 6’5 and only weighed 129. I knew he had been losing weight but he wouldn’t keep me updated on how he was doing. He would fight with me every time I had asked. So when I heard his weight was 129 in the er, I started crying my eyes out. Then to find out his sugar was so high that they had to draw his blood to check it.. I felt like I had let this go on for far too long. I couldn’t smell the odd sweet smell of his breath due to Covid ruining my sense of smell back in 2021. But that was the first thing the nurse said as she was putting him in the wheelchair to roll him into a room. He had gotten very sick from the DKA and had been projectile vomiting for most of that day. I would have taken him earlier if I had of known.. he threw up so much it burned the roof of his mouth and it took months to heal. He had also contracted pneumonia which was hindering his breathing (that was the symptom that I refused to look past when he told me he didn’t want to go to the er). It’s a wonder he’s still here. He doesn’t want to get a pump. Says it freaks him out. But I would give anything to see him get one. He can’t keep up with his highs and lows. We’re struggling right now. He’s starting to shut me out again. Hes acting like a zombie. Even at work.. which is a big deal for him. Thankfully he does have a monitor now and it’s hooked up to my phone. At least I can keep an eye on his sugar now. But I’m worried the affects from DKA are starting to show now. Does anyone have any advice? Will I ever get my fiancé back? We’ve been together 8 years.. I didn’t realize how hard this would be for him. But especially for me. Not to sound selfish by any means. I carry both of our loads on a regular basis. He will be here (as in, in the present.. my normal fiancé) for a few days a week. If I’m lucky, a whole week. Then his sugar spikes and he can’t control it.. that’s when things fall apart. I guess I’m just here to unload. And hopefully someone will read this that can give me advice. If you do read this, thank you ❤

As a type 1, i usually get an anxiety attack if my blood sugar is high, seeing what happens to peoples nervous system when they don’t treat their high blood glucose over time just sounds like the absolute scariest thing in the world. A low is a fun treat for me! I get to have a bit of carbs! A high is a panic attack 😂
