Guard impacting costs meter now, and can no longer repel grabs like it used to. I don't think it's better than ever; just my opinion.

In Soul Calibur 4.There are 3 kinds of impacts Just,Repel,Special,and Parry impacts.Parry impacts(which are blue) do nothing to your opponents soul gauge but fills yours instead.Just(attack) (which are red) can temporarily disable opponents as well as reduce the soul gauge of your opponent as well as cause a soul crush.Repel impacts appear green and reduces your opponent's soul gauge and can also cause a soul crush.Special guard impacts appear blue but before it activates the weapon glows purple for a second.All impacts make a metal against metal sound but the just impact sound is higher.
