Kelly Brook was too inexperienced at that point in her career to hold such a prominent role. It was the fault of the producers for giving her the role rather than hers herself. Shan was such a Sharp and outspoken personality... Brook asked the most fluffy and dull questions. She didn't even do enough research to distinguish Alysia Milano from Tori Spelling (they look nothing alike).. Shan looks visibly unimpressed. She was generous and patient with KB though.. to her credit.

Thanks. I wonder if that's Rudolph Walker doing the voiceover for the Video Diaries trail.

Star Pets used to, and still does when I watch this video now, mess with my instincts on whether they actually had a studio audience or were using an applause soundtrack. Because all the subtle telltale signs convince me that there's no audience. But then it comes to the voting at the end, and there are audience shots which seem to prove me wrong. However, I sense that there's something off about those audience shots. It's very convincing, Peter appears to be right there in front of them, they've got the Star Pets sign at the back which seems to dispel any question over them inserting audience shots from another show (See Wipeout with Bob Monkhouse for an example of that technique. Catch Phrase audience digitally inserted.). Yet I still feel that there's no audience, and that something deceptive was going on. Was Peter on green screen when he appeared to have an audience behind him? Did they perhaps record a stock amount of audience shots at another BBC show's recording specifically to insert into Star Pets, explaining how the Star Pets sign was present at the back? My senses tell me that they simulated a live audience, but did it very well.

They had a live audience but they didn’t find him that funny so they dubbed an audience soundtrack. Kind of how like on Fun House during the Fun House run, they had a soundtrack of cheering kids but you could sometimes see the actual kids on the studio floor weren’t cheering or anything.

Ah, now it all makes sense. I should have twigged, but I never thought of that. Fun House had one of the most blatant canned audience tracks. During the three games, they used the same distinct recording throughout the entire ten year run, of kids chanting "Red" and "Yellow" then counting down the final few seconds in heavy Scottish accents.

Thanks. It's always interesting seeing the different announcers. I don't even think Phillip Dooley Scott has an IMDB page.

Even at 56, Ian radiates such boyish charm, playfulness, and innocence; it's no wonder Croft and Perry saw him as the ideal Private Pike. It's a testament to Ian's craft that his character shone so brightly in a cast riven with talent and experience. R.I.P Pikey! Say hello to Mr. Mainwaring, Cpl. Jones, and Uncle Arthur for me!!
