J'ai eu la chance de voir Lado Ataneli dans ce rôle à Berlin: il était vraiment exceptionnel. Quel dommage que cette grande voix ait aujourd'hui complètement disparu des grandes scènes ! Mais où que vous soyez maintenant, merci pour ces magnifiques moments !

Would rather say different. Fleming does an amazing job, I think that her passion is unparalleled and she does some brilliant phrasing. I do think that Anna wins due to her incredible topnotes and that her voice isn't as lush and creamy as Fleming's is. The vibrato Anna pulls of when hitting the highest note and how she increases the volume in it with a soaring crescendo, that's insane and magical. So she's slightly better, but surely Fleming should be credited for her marvellous performance of this aria, because a life full of singing Strauss gives her a completely unique vocal approach to her performance.

The BEST "Mira di acerbe lagrime" scene I've heard yet, phenomenal acting, Anna Tomowa-Sintow is majestic. Raferty's an excellent di Luna. I think this is the Lyric Opera of Chicago 1987 - 1988 season.

Miss Tomowa - Sintow is an extraordinary artist. Her unique timbre, a real soprano spinto, is beautiful, that is why Verdi and Puccini ( among others ) sounds as they should.

Not her best role (Amelia needs a voice like Lady Macbeth & Aida & Trovatore & Don Carlo )..... She has a more lirico liric con Spinto voice BUT luxurious & very very fine Legato

Lady Macbeth and Elisabetta in Don Carlos certainly do not require the same voice.They are at opposite ends of teh spectrum!! Freni had the perfect voice for Don Carlos. In Aida she was somewhat out of her depth and fortunately she bever even attempted the other orles you mentioned.

Fleming does a really good job. Rich and vibrante sound. But Tomowa has greater expression, top notes and much fuller volume on the high notes. And her voice is extremly beautiful ❤️

I had the great chance to hear Tomowa-Sintow in "Die Frau ohne Schatten". A huge voice with an incredible top D.

She is truly amazing. What a beautiful voice and of course Pavarotti is always fantastic the greatest tenor of the last few decades after Corelli. Absolute glorious singing by both two outstanding opera singers.

You can search... and search... you will find hundreds of other versions... but there is absolutly no better one of this famous Duetto...

Magnifique ,j'adore cette voix .Elle chante même la cabalette après le " d'amor sull alli rose " qui est aussi très difficile car il y faut beaucoup d'agilité et peu de cantatrices s'y risquent .Donc généralement cette cabalette est le plus souvent supprimée dans les représentations de " Trovatore ".
