What you gonna do when you get out of jail? I'm gonna have some fun And what do you consider fun? Fun, natural fun I'm in heaven With my boyfriend, my laughing boyfriend There's no beginning and there is no end Time isn't present in that dimension He'll take my arm When we're walking, rolling and rocking It's one time I'm glad I'm not a man Feels like I'm dreaming, but I'm not sleeping Check it out, y'all I'm in heaven With the maven of funk mutation Clinton's musicians such as Bootsy Collins Raise expectations to a new intention No one can sing Quite like Smokey, Smokey Robinson Wailin' and skankin' to Bob Marley Reggae's expanding with Sly and Robbie I said, oops, your mama said, uh Oops, your mama said, uh Oops, your mama said, uh Oops, your mama That's what I said All the weekend Boyfriend was missing, I surely miss him The way he'd hold me in his warm arms We went insane when we took cocaine Bohannon, Bohannon, Bohannon, Bohannon Bohannon, Bohannon, Bohannon, Bohannon Stepping in-a rhythm to a Kurtis Blow Who needs to think when your feet just go? With a hppie-the-hip and a hippie-the hop Who needs to think when your feet just go? Bohannon, Bohannon, Bohannon, Bohannon Who needs to think when your feet just go? Bohannon, Bohannon, Bohannon, Bohannon James Brown, James Brown James Brown, James Brown Hit me If you see him Please remind him, unhappy boyfriend Well, he's the genius of love He's got a greater depth of feeling Well, he's the genius of love He's so deep Aha, yeah I remember those hot summer nights down at C.B.G.B's Oh, yeah Mystic bohem, mystic bohem Rock the night

I had never heard the live version till I saw a half life (I think) meme of a guy dancing to it. It’s rare that a live version of a song is better than the studio version. That’s why I rarely listen to them.

Well, I'm dressed up so nice An' I'm doin' my best An' I'm startin' over... I'm startin' over in another place Lemme tell you a story Big chief with a golden crown He's got rings on his fingers And then he walks up, up to the throne He's makin' shapes with his hands An' don't choo dare sit back Now don't choo dare sit down And don't choo dare speak up! And on the first day, we had everything we could stand Ooh who could've asked for more? And on the second day, there was nothing else left to do Ooh what a day that was. There are fifty thousand beggars Roaming in the streets They have lost all their possessions They have nothing left to eat Down come a bolt of lightning Start an electrical storm Starts a chain reaction Go pull a fire alarm I'm dreaming of a city It was my own invention I put the wheels in motion A time for big decisions And on the first day, we had everything we could stand Ooh and then we let it fall And on the second day, there was nothing else at all Ooh what a day that was. Oh a day that was Ooh that's the way it goes There's a million ways- to get things done There's a million ways- to make things work out. Well I'm going right through And the light came down Well they're roundin' 'em up From all over town They're movin' forward and backwards They're movin' backwards and front And they're enjoying themselves Moving in ev'ry direction And if you feel like you're in a whirlpool You feel like going home You feel like talking to someone Who know the difference between right and wrong And on the first day, we had everything we could stand Ooh and then we let it fall And on the second day, there was nothing else left at all Ooh what a day that was. (We're go(in') boom boom boom That's the way we live And in a great big room and That's the way we live.) x3

Talking Heads version of this song is the BEST. Glad they made the song their own. The original version can never stand to the mighty David Bryne and The Talking Heads version. They do it better than the people whom did it before them...what was their names. Thank you Taking Heads for making the song your own!!! Tell the people whom did it first how to do it with that bass.

Al Slavinzki The original was performed by Tom Tom Club, which consists of the bassists/female vocalist of the talking heads and the drummer of the talking heads. To my knowledge David Byrne isn’t even in this version of the song if you go by the live video. This, “talking heads” version might as well also be called the, “Tom Tom Club live” version.

Lyrics: Ah, watch out, you might get what you're after Cool babies, strange, but not a stranger I'm an ordinary guy Burning down the house Hold tight, wait till the party's over Hold tight, we're in for nasty weather There has got to be a way Burning down the house Here's your ticket, pack your bags Time for jumpin' overboard The transportation is here Close enough, but not too far Maybe you know where you are Fightin' fire with fire Ah, all wet, yeah, you might need a raincoat Shape down, dreams walking in broad daylight Three hundred sixty-five degrees Burning down the house, huh Ah, it was once upon a place Sometimes I listen to myself Gonna come in first place People on their way to work And, baby, what did you expect Gonna burst into flames Ah Burning… My house 'S out of the ordinary That's right Don't want to hurt nobody Some things sure can sweep me off my feet Burning down the house No visible means of support And you have not seen nothing yet Everything's stuck together I don't know what you expect Staring into the TV set Fighting fire with fire Ah

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack And you may find yourself in another part of the world And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife And you may ask yourself, "Well... how did I get here?" Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by, water flowing underground Into the blue again after the money's gone Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground And you may ask yourself, "How do I work this?" And you may ask yourself, "Where is that large automobile?" And you may tell yourself, "This is not my beautiful house" And you may tell yourself, "This is not my beautiful wife" Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by, water flowing underground Into the blue again after the money's gone Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Water dissolving and water removing There is water at the bottom of the ocean Under the water, carry the water Remove the water at the bottom of the ocean Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by, water flowing underground Into the blue again, into the silent water Under the rocks and stones, there is water underground Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by, water flowing underground Into the blue again after the money's gone Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground And you may ask yourself, "What is that beautiful house?" And you may ask yourself, "Where does that highway go to?" And you may ask yourself, "Am I right? Am I wrong?" And you may tell yourself, "My God! What have I done?" Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by, water flowing underground Into the blue again, into the silent water Under the rocks and stones, there is water underground Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by, water flowing underground Into the blue again after the money's gone Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was and look where my hand was Time isn't holding up, time isn't after us Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Letting the days go by, same as it ever was Here a twister comes, here comes the twister Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Once in a lifetime, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by

they're not rerecorded or a drum machine. It's just had a bit of studio editing/treatment. When they recorded the film they knew they would be recording a live album at the same time so I'm sure they had as much equipment on hand they could in order to get individual master channels for every performer. The rerelease did change the mix, ostensibly to make it sound more like the film, but YMMV- it's not been rerecorded though.
