I've heard Spectralert Advances in person before in a Hotel Lobby. They were loud, But Wheelock As and Mt are even worse. My Elementary school had Wheelock AS's for indoors and Mt's for Outside. My Classroom had a Wheelock As, and it made my ears bleed every time it went off. I hated unexpected Fire Alarms sounding in Elementary.

The first and most important step in achieving a dream is having a dream. Sometimes some dreams can seem too big to be achievable but nothing's every really impossible. Some things can stand in the way, like feeling inadequate or not really knowing how to make a dream into reality but those things don't have to be deciding factors. If you dream of being a musician, be a musician. If you dream of being a comedian, be a comedian. There's a lot of cliches out here that cover this: "fake it 'til you make it" and "practice makes perfect" are a couple that come to mind. The point is, nobody ever starts out at the professional level but every professional has had to start somewhere. The real key to succeeding is striving. Whatever it is you dream of being, just be it and the rest will happen naturally in time. Also, a license to perform in public can be obtained at your local City Hall.

In my house there is a an old (non functioning) fair alarm that is pretty much a dish shaped bell that gets hit by a little arm.
