It's such a beautiful lake. Hopefully I'll go back this Summer. Bethlehem Steel used to own a Summer resort called Bethco Pines many years ago. When Bethlehem Steel folded the resort was liquidated. What was once Bethco Pines is now a church campground. The other part is the Quemahoning Reservoir Family Recreational Park.

Beautiful video. It's a stunning, panoramic view of Conemaugh Valley and the surrounding ridges with the Conemaugh River meandering through the heart of Johnstown.

Beautiful shots. Nice video. The whole scenery is breathtaking. I enjoyed driving over that bridge on route 219. I drove over the bridge from visiting Quemahoning Reservoir. I would estimate the bridge is a couple hundred feet above ground.

Thank you. They put a fence up since I took the video to discourage people from jumping of to commit suicide. Believe it's 192 feet high . . . good estimate.

Great post! We actually visited St. John the Baptist Church at MP 129 eastbound some years ago, used the steps! The old Findlay St. overpass was still there. I'm glad we were able to do this. Thanks for the beautiful post!

We bought our very first house on Park Ave. in 1981. My kids went to St. Patrick's until we moved out of state. It was nice back then but my sister told me it has turned into a bad area. I hope not. It was a nice place when we lived there.

Yea, the demographics have changed. Not like it used to be but not as bad as some make it out to be. Still a lot of good folks there.

@@patrickgeorge5 That's good to know. It wasn't high class or anything when we lived there, but we had some wonderful neighbors and it was great to just pop over to someone's house for coffee or they would pop over to your house. No invitations necessary. My best friend lived at 666 Forest Ave. Fixed their house up so cute. I noticed on Zillow that my old house and hers look pretty trashed. Such a shame. Both had been remodeled and were very, very cute at the time. But I guess 40 years on and nothing is the same. Sigh......lots of nice memories there. Guess you can't go home again.

This is a great video. The song is actually perfect. New Baltimore is a metaphor of life standing still and quiet vs. the "world" that bisects it. The soothing voice of "The King" really makes this video.

Grew up in Bedford PA. Left there over 40 years ago, only ever return for visits. Nice quality vid. Wish it could have captured the "downtown" better. Thanks for doing this. Cool to see the place from the air. Also, so glad the Lord Is Jesus sign is now removed from the old Smith Furniture, Car dealership building.

As the kid in the 70s living in the outskirts of Johnstown I always remember Scalp Avenue seemed like the big city, all the lights and businesses. now that I've lived in Los Angeles for decades it doesn't seem quite as big as it used to

Ha ha. Same here. My husband used to work at A&P on Scalp Ave and I worked as a pharmacy tech at Revco in the Hills Plaza. Been in CA since 86 and when I went back in the 90's it seemed very small and dingy compared to CA.

@patrickgeorge5

Not that long, if paddled straight through probably 40 minutes or so depending on tides and wind. Did the circumnavigation of Cape May once and that's about a 15 or 16 mile trip and a bit more challenging.

What was your DJI camera settings? Did you use a filter?
@patrickgeorge5
@patrickgeorge5 6 жыл бұрын
Didn't use a filter. Really not sure right now what my settings were. Shot at 2.8 I believe since I was having getting some flare issues and shooting wide open seems to help that. Just the regular profile, no log or anything like that. Still trying to figure a lot of this out myself. It's pretty much straight out of camera though with just some minor correction--highlight control, just a tad of sharpening, maybe a little vibrance boost if I remember right. 1080p @ 24fps I believe too. Hope that helps. If there is something specific you are curious about let me know and I'll check next time I fire up the bird.

Thanks....We think alike. I put two flights together for my video, one from cp bridge and the other from under McNally on the big rock that's next to the creek. Check out some of my other videos...I also shot one from Greenhouse Park. Keep up the good work!

Hiked down the rr tracks from the carpenter's park bridge on the stonycreek. Pretty much shot from a little island on the side of the river just upstream from McNally Bridge. Checked out your vid. Nice! Funny how some of the shots are so similar. Looks like you shot that from the c.p. bridge. Too far for me. lol Good going.
