Cantonese is MUCH closer to classic pronunciation than Mandarin. In fact, a lot of ancient Chinese text loses a bit of its prose devices due to it being pronounced in Mandarin.

That looks like Taiwanese gua bao. Always thought it super weird it just gets put on the menu no matter what style of Chinese restaurant it is.
