I am South African. Lived in Cardiff for two years. The Land of my Fathers has a poetic spiritual patriotism that is only matched by NKosi Sikelele. Both anthems honour land, people and language.

For some strange reason now and then I play these anthems whilst I play Football Manager to sike up all my foreign digital players and I enjoy listening to them 😅🤣

-South Africa 🇿🇦🏆🏆🏆🏆 - it's a prayer first then an anthem -New Zealand 🇳🇿🏆🏆🏆 - "God defend New Zealand" - is a prayer to our LORD to keep His mighty hand over em as a nation and bind em with love & peace. -Wales🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿, it's beautiful.

English fan here, I hate our national anthem and always will because it’s just about one person as opposed to the whole nation and all the people. My favourite is the Welsh followed by the French anthem

It's the playing of the highland war pipes that sets Scotland above the others but the Welsh have the best singers in my opinion 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

1 and 2 are interchangeable. As a Scot, wales Is by far the best rugby trip. Great people! Land of my fathers, especially with the roof closed would bring a tear to a glass eye, as does flower of Scotland at Murrayfield. Land of fathers sung by what feels and sounds like a competent male and female choir, in a full Cardiff bar, at 10pm post match, is equally stirring..land of my fathers is a beautiful son.

I will always be biased and say Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau is number 1, but it’s the time and the place. Amhran na bhfiann in Dublin is superb and Nkosi sikelel Afrika at Ellis Park is biblical, I’ve been lucky enough to witness both.

For me, it's the Marseillaise. It's the best composition and can be sung with the most fervor. BTW, I'm American of Irish heritage. The scene is "Casablanca" with the Marseillaise is one of the greatest moments in cinema.

Ive gotta say Ireland, France and South Africa's national anthems are sooo underrated and englands it just way too overrated it should be 10th No passion, way too short. And ive gotta say as good as O' Flower of Scotland is Wales's is Way more passionate and better even though im scottish

3 thoughts 1. It's cruel to make anyone listen to the Argentinian national anthem. 2. Italians should stick to making macaroni and overpriced handbags. 3. Ireland. We all know you can come up with a better song then that. Put your fat and oddly misshapen heads together and come up with a ditty that will put tears in me old mammys eyes.

@@janisjohanson9190 thank you for this. I think the Welsh national anthem is by far the best, and the people sing it with such gusto and pride. It was also interesting to see so many of the former British colonies have included aboriginal lyrics (some without English even). The British to me ranks last - nothing about the country or people, just one person.
