I'm wondering why you take the time to separate the loop wires. I've always twisted the loops into a bifilar tight wrap up to the toroid and snipped the ends before inserting in the pcb holes. I'm careful to scrape the enamel off all wires near the toroid, to ensure a solid solder joint. Either way, the loop wires are joined electrically once soldered in place.

It's been a few years since I made this video, but I think I was just following the directions closely. For the sake of demonstrating them. There's definitely lots of ways to do it. Your way is as valid as any. Thanks for the comment and watch!

I’m trying PETG for the first time on same glass bed. I tried the smooth side though. Got a couple good prints, but current print is a lot of tiny parts and they are not sticking well. Might try the textured side. I was afraid the textured side might stick too much.

Hello I’m wanting to add a dds for multi band like yours what’s please can you tell me which resistor you remove before adding lpf to make it open up on all band Thankyou 73.
@MiscDotGeek4 ай бұрын
Check my other videos about that, it's been a few years and I don't recall off the top of my head anymore. If you want multi-band though, get a uBITX. The BITX40 is built as a 200ohm radio internally, so if you're going to use multiple filters, like I did, you have to add transformers from 200ohm to 50ohm and back. Not a huge deal, but something to keep in mind that I did not know when I made this video.

Do you have a video using it and showing the different testscanrio you can do with it and how it can be handy.? (TinyVNA testboard for components etc) I know many people tends to use these VNAs for numerous other things, as you do have this phase_/time correlation between sockets and you can use them for numerous things if you know what your doing and how to proceed on testing approaches for various components..(I don't know the fundamentals, so Im looking for videos of it, but pretty much all the videos on YT, are people using them for their main popquiz like fx Antennas resonate area etc.)

@@kaiserollz if you are frustrated, I would recommend that you step away from it and come back in a little bit. That's always the little thing I do first lol. Then if you still can't get it, check the manual about five more times. That's usually the next thing I do too. And then I go to the QRP labs groups.io page and beg for help. Good luck! Ryan, I am so glad you found “your place”. Be careful and don’t put up a “temporary” antenna of any kind….. I have done that at two homes and each time life got in the way and the temporary antenna became a permanent antenna for quite a few years. They did work but were not the antenna I had dreamed of and planned for. If you are retired then maybe life won’t interfere. A drone view of your property might be helpful for designing where you might want to put up a pole to hold a loop or something like that. Find a neighbor or friend with a drone and give us some more information.

Interesting experiment. I suspect the audio amplifier. You could connect the mixer output directly to computer soundcard input (through a capacitor) and try to see the spectrum in some SDR software like HDSDR.

Great question! What it comes down to is that I had damaged the board quite a bit while experimenting and rather than try to rebuild, I went with a PA that I knew would be able to give more power and do it with less spurious emissions and with more reliability.
