@@Fifa-ji4yt so I’ve heard of this as well but personally haven’t experienced it. 700 miles when I bought the bike and I’ve only tracked and raced it since, so although hard miles, not a lot of miles have gone on. So honestly I’m not sure if this is a fix per se, I wasn’t having any issues just wanted more power, and the stick cams looked fine. Haven’t heard of any of the other 890s in the hooligan paddock having issues, either. Hope that helps?! Cheers
@queenslander954Ай бұрын
Yea mate , remember KTM are still trying to pretend it’s not a problem , so if do you buy one and get that problem with those cheap & nasty cam lobes where they’re just pressed on to a shaft , it probably won’t be covered under warranty , KTM will just ignore your calls , ignore your emails & never return your calls basically a scam company

Depends on why the bike is eating camshafts, it could be poor hardness on the stock cams or oil starvation, or both. KTM has yet to say why and in the Failed Camshafts Facebook group, it is all speculation /opinions. I had to replace the camshafts on my 2020 790 Duke.

Amazing riding, you were flying! 2 questions- did you get a slipper clutch and if not did you feel like you needed one? I heard the back locking up under braking/downshifts. Thanks! I did not get a slipper, although I should have due to the locking issues I was having like you say. Maybe there was! Also been in Cali long enough that I’m conditioned to their red flags, which is to stop on track to let ambulance out, so I would have just been sitting in track anyway, might as well be by him to help in any way I could. Won’t fully deny target fixation, but this was just my decision I made at that time. Good or better riders I’m not sure matters, we all know there’s a bunch of stuff that runs through our head when this stuff happens. Anyway, cheers!
