De Selby pt 1 is so gut wrenchingly beautiful in my opinion. The silence, the feeling of being small while the guitar intro plays, then the layered vocals with gaeilge makes me cry every time

I completely agree. It’s probably my favorite song by him. It’s so tender and fantasy-touching. It reminds me of someone approaching a stream of healing water that has moonlight cast on it in the moonlight and during the Gaelige parts the water is healing but it’s a scary scene because in this vision I’m having the water is remembering all the pain the person touching it has gone through and the water is replaying that to understand what to heal so it’s not comforting thoughts (which I associate with the almost ending of the song where it gets tense and louder) and then calms down because the water heals the person quickly
