The genius of Jameson. He influenced me for sure. I grew up in the 70’s wanting to play bass like the bassist on those Motown albums. So much fun learning those songs.

Like the commentator said, it sounds as if the bass is singing along with the vocals. As a matter of fact, he was one of the first and father to do this. You can hear his bass singing lead and harmonies in many Motown songs. In my opinion, this started to influence musicians and producers around the world to do the same. Others did before him... however, his bass is more prominent throughout Motown's catalog.
