You’ve done a fantastic job thus far ! Keeping the same battery platform is the best way forward but just don’t get drawn into one particular brand,… Consider brands like wera & knipex,….. I’m in a similar position to you and I’m midway through my van build and I’m also slowly upgrading all my tools….. Keep up the great work 👍

@@richardedwards5128 Thanks Richard. I got drawn into buying DeWalt or Stanley tools for a while, but you'll be glad to hear I did stop myself and have purchased decent Wera, Knipex and Bahco hand tools too. Good luck on your van build and future endeavors. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Atb Shaun

Can tell your military got everything in there but the kitchen sink, you’ll soon out grow the little van mate I done the same thing I had to get something bigger after three months on my own. Try not to over think best advice I can give I stressed about everything thought I needed every tool possible you’ll soon learn. The work will fly in trust me you won’t regret it.

@@deangoundry Yeah I'm kind of thinking I should have went bigger to begin with but it'll have to do to start with. I've got the roof rack and will be getting a trailer. I get what you mean about the tools, definitely spent a load on them. I'm looking forward to setting up, I hope it goes well. I will be giving it my all. Great idea when you get out. Theres loads of work out there. Im a handy man and end up doing all sorts. Hanging pictures, fitting doors, decking, patios, plastering, bathrooms etc etc etc. Word of mouth is best. I work for whole families now through recomendation. Facebook is good if you set up a page. Get insured as we all make mistakes. Get 50% up front unless you trust them. Van looks great. Get the tools dirty mate.

Nice UK workshop Shaun. I've got the same Bosch pillar drill and I agree, it's a great bit of kit. I did a video upgrading it. You should check it out. Good luck finding time to get in the workshop more. I've been saying that for 12 months now and still no joy.
@madebyshaun6502 күн бұрын
Thank you. I will check that out, it might give me some good ideas. I know it's always easier said than done to get in the workshop more, but I am going to make the extra effort. Atb Shaun

I love a van tour, workshop tout or what's in my workbag video. Looks like you're set up ready to go. I still struggle talking to a camera sometimes. I thought you did a good job.

@@madebyshaun650 The only thing better than a van tour is a workshop tour. Although, as a fellow Brit, I'm sure you'll feel the same as me, in that some of the workshops across the pond are just ridiculously big and some houses have workshops that would be a full blown commercial workshop over here. I did a workshop tour when I started my channel and am well overdue a update. Hopefully I'll do another one this year.
@madebyshaun6503 күн бұрын
@@essentialhandyman Totally agree, I uploaded a workshop tour of mine this morning coincidentally. Its a one car garage, but I'm very pleased with it although I want to make improvements. I could only dream of some of the workshops across the pond, but yet again I'd probably struggle to fill it. If you do an updated tour, I'll be sure to watch it. Atb Shaun

Damn, i thought my van was organised but it looks a right state in comparison to this. Do love the toughbuilt pouches as storage on the doors. I donthe exact same thing, really handy to have all the hand tools you frequently use easily accessible on the doors I'd recommend going to a weight bridge to check your weight, it adds up sooner than you realise

A very well laid out van it's impressive what you've got in. There's not much room for extras like a mitresaw or extra materials, but I'm sure you will figure that out . I can see your back killing you going in and out 20 times a day 😂 however best of luck to you on your new adventure I'm sure you'll smash it, if your going to be a proper sparky you might aswell throw the dust pan and brush away 😂
@madebyshaun65016 күн бұрын
Thanks for the words of encouragement Brad. Yeah there are some restrictions with having a small van, but the tool totes can go in the foot well in the front to make spaces for the miter saw and stand. I have the roof rack for some material storage and am looking at getting a trailer. I will where possible try to get materials delivered to site, for the bigger jobs. If I do become a sparky, I will definitely throw out the dust pan and brush! 😂 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
