Watched your standard lacing and was super confused, thankful I stumbled upon this one after the fact. Had no idea Wilson gloves laced slightly differently.

great videos. what lacing do you use?

Tanners was used in this video.

Also do you have to skive any lace for a catchers mitt like you might do for the palm lace on a fielders glove?
@DIRTY30TN3 күн бұрын
You can, but not necessary in most mitts. Unless it’s being annoying and digging into your hand I wouldn’t worry about it.

Is this all 1/4 inch lace on the web and 3/16 on the rear of the glove?

Yeah I have an AMG 600 CW, it’s just over 20 years old. It’s a heavy glove, but a damn good one. I bought some saddle soap and I’m considering re-lacing it as well. Nice vid!

My son has a KBH13 and the finger laces cover the whole back of the fingers. And I think 1 whole piece of lace is used for the fingers and the spiral. Am I wrong? I want to relace the spiral 1 color and the fingers another. But I'm new to this and dont want to mess it up. Thanks!

That sounds right. Check my video for standard fingers/web spiral and it’ll show you how

Where do you get that? Great long needle?
@DIRTY30TNАй бұрын
This is a needle that Tanners used to sell long ago. You can get a similar one from AZ Glove Lab: azglovelab.bigcartel.com/category/glove-accessories

Wonderful job and very patient thorough instructions. When I saw the price tag to replace my Wilson A-2000 XLO at $300.00 I decided I must re-string it. (I paid 50-60 years ago which I thought was a lot at the time.

How do you get the lace thru the metal my needle is too big?
@DIRTY30TNАй бұрын
You’ll have to cut the lace at more of an angle and pull it through with needle nose pliers

What size lace did you use for the web and fingers? 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch?
@DIRTY30TNАй бұрын
Always 1/4” for fingers and web, 3/16” for everywhere else

I want to do a spiral on the bottom interior of my pocket on my catcher's mitt, it has its junction to the web pocket much lower and there's a lot of impact right at its seam, ever see such a thing as a spiral done there to fully protect that seam with replaceable lacing, or is it a bad idea for some reason I can't envision yet?
