Last year I walked the West Highland Way and have been celebrating in the Black Isle Bar in Fort William. There I first tried their Scotch Ale. The best Scotch Ale I had during my WHW hike. Black Isle has a lot of great stuff!

Cloudy with a golden color. White, medium foam, falls slowly. In the aroma and taste, a lot of tropical with pineapple and yellow melon at the forefront. In the background, apricots and peaches, slightly bland accents of coconut and vanilla. Saturation in the lower regions, sweetness in the upper ones.

Hazy, light yellow in color. The foam was white and subsided quickly. Grain and sweet tropical fruits dominate, with pineapple and passion fruit at the forefront. Herbs and grass. Everything seems very sweet and rather brings to mind the popular alcopops. Moderate carbonation, high sweetness.

1. There's a Caravan Club site and a Camping and Caravan Club site just down the road towards Hunstanton. Neen on that offie a number of times in the past and had a great selection of Trappist Ales. I can recommend it, remember to carry plastic. lol

I want to love Brewdog again but everything I have had from them available in supermarkets lately has been pretty poor. All tastes similar, all has the Brewdog 'twang' which I suspect is sugar and hop oil rahter than real ingredients. The only exception to that is Black Heart which for the money I think is a great beer. I have had a couple of their nanodog offerings which are much better but even they are only really up to the standard of the best supermaket craft like Vocation's Love and Hate which comes in significantly cheaper. For Brewdog it isn't about the beer anymore.

@@TheCraftBeerHub like you said, I think it’s pretty well balanced, if subdued in flavour. I got two of them individually for £1.70 which I don’t think you can turn your nose up at.
