Absolutely a false video. No matter what you are saying in your video you are wrong. KZbin is in FACT limiting hunting videos and not suggesting the content like it was a couple of years ago. I have a hunting channel and have noticed at least a 95% decrease in views and also Have been contacted by KZbin about posting animals being killed. This didn't exit before and YES KZbin in their own way is slowly phasing out hunting videos. You don't know what you are talking about.....
@TheFishingMommy2 күн бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to write all that. But your comment is actually on a video that WAS a couple of years ago and what I said was accurate at the time I made the video. My advice to hunting channel creators is to get a lot more creative about the videos you post. People don't necessarily need or want to watch animals being killed; if they're hunters, they know what it looks like. If they're not hunters, they may find it objectionable. Instead, maybe focus on your hunting strategies, the best gear, creative ways to find new hunting grounds, environmental pressures on wildlife, or even, food processing, storage tips and recipes for using the game meat that you have provided to your family.

I have both kayaks and unfortunately I can only partially agree with you. The seat of the PA is significantly better, here I mean in particular the height, which allows me to have a pain-free 12-14 hour fishing day compared to the outback. However, in the high position the kayak is only suitable for fair weather. I also find rod rests much better on the PA. The Outback is once again ahead in terms of weight, speed and rough water suitability.

Amazing, truly well done! Yakama does make a round pole rack where u can pull out the pole to put kayak on first, so u will not scratch car. And I will tell you that the factory racks are only held on by simple sheet metal screws, a good gust of wind from a passing truck can rip the racks right off your car! So always use a front and rear rope/ strap on your rig.

Maybe bring a towel, outdoor pillow or some sort of foam to put on the ground to prevent that? The Outback has a load assist piece that’s meant to prevent that issue, though to be honest it’s not the best at it!

The spool is broken so the previous owner probably thought the reel was garbage. Someone like an ex, perhaps? That's an amazing find. That is my #1 all-time favorite reel. Back in 1984, I got a call from my wife. She was at Woolco. The sporting goods department pulled out a shelf to do a good cleaning for the first time in years. A brand new in the box Zebco Cardinal 4 had fallen behind and gone unnoticed years before. I asked what they wanted for it. She said $35 and asked if I wanted her to buy it. I said yes and don't let anyone else buy it! She brought it home and it was a brand new in the box Zebco Cardinal 4! I couldn't believe it. She was amazing at finding thing everyone else overlooked. To get the same reel new today will cost at least $500. It is by far the best reel I've ever used. I've caught about 35 Chinook salmon up to 38 lbs. with it and hundreds of carp over 20 lbs. with several up to 40 lbs. and not once did that reel let me down. It had the greatest drag. I've caught thousands of fish including many large steelhead and pike. It was such a good and long-lasting reel that Garcia bought it from Zebco and redesigned some aspects of it, which made it an inferior reel. They did that on purpose. They had the market cornered with the Mitchell 300 until the Cardinal came along. Piss me right off! About 20 years ago Garcia had a reel out that was said to be as good quality as the Cardinal but instead of a price tag of $35, it was $300. I try not to by anything made by Garcia.

Different yaks for different uses. The ss127 would be for floating down calm rivers IMO as is the rs117 and really the ex123. The RS117 and ex123 will both paddle/travel better than the ss127 but all fishing yaks paddle like a barge, just try paddling a big fish 105. A liquidlogic, Feelfreel Aventura or a Pungo 120 will paddle/travel much better than any fishing yak. I paddled up a slow flow river 1/2 mile to a good fishing hole in my rs117 once, never again just like I never use it to fish a shallow river where I must get out and drag over rocks to get to the next hole. A cheap walmart Pelican is my lightweight dragging yak. Bonafide makes a high quality yak, just need to use them for certain conditions.

Are the chords waterproof and does that power supply come with the radar and does it come with that waterproof case?
@TheFishingMommy Жыл бұрын
Hi, the cords themselves are waterproof but of course the connection points aren’t so you should use some putty or something to seal the hole in the box. The battery is sold separately from the sonar unit. The box is just a regular waterproof box I got at either Amazon or Walmart, and I put a sponge still in its wrapper in the bottom to hold the battery in place, then drilled a hole in the box for the cord to come out.

I would add if you have folding mirrors fold them in first . When the kayak does slip and fall it will take your mirror with it . A car mirror is from $ 100 to $800 depending on what you drive . I was lucky it was an older Ford truck and was able to find one at a wrecking yard for $65 . And for my 2024 Outback that mirrors do everything you can imagine , , , I don't even want to guess what that would cost .
@TheFishingMommy Жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea! I have a truck now & don’t car top anymore-had a bad slip of the yak and it cost me more than a few hundred bucks in mirror replacement.

I understand this is an old video, but want to clarify some things for those who read this and believe this is the kayaks issue alone. I am always curious to see what others think of kayaks, but for me this review seemed a little biased biased based on the fact that you are trying to compare it to a pedal drive (which you said you prefer) to the SS127. The SS127 does have some tracking issues and could be better with a rudder but it also seemed like you were digging the kayak and rocking back and forth as you paddled. This leaning is one of the main reasons you were tracking back and forth while paddling. Being that you stated you were shorter, this could be due to shorter arms (truly not trying to make a short joke) to compensate for width of the kayak, Its hard to tell from first person views in snippet's. This is a wide heavy yak with stability in mind, more than speed. It is meant to stand up and fish and it does it great even for tall top heavy people such as myself. Many people now a days just throw a trolling motor on it so it negates paddle tracking to begin with if they go that route. For anyone who is looking for a pedal drive, buy a pedal drive. Do not complain that it doesn't have a pedal drive when you got it that way. Bonafide did come out with a pedal drive in the P127 for those looking at that model, but the SS127 for its price point checks off most peoples wants/needs. You had a much worse overall review of the Ozark, yet your title doesn't indicate it as being something you would NOT buy. It just listed it as a review. I just find it a bit misleading title relative to your other review.

Hi there @TheFishingMommy, My wife and I are looking to get into kayak fishing, and not sure why it took so long, but finally came across the SS127, so have been looking at many reviews, builds, etc... about this model. I appreciate your input and the A+'s you gave match my research as well. I will say though, that it is now 2023 and all the reasons you gave for the negative review, no longer exist. Honestly, I didn't see them as a negative in the first place, as none had to do with the purpose for which this model was designed anyways which is fishing, not travelling. I find that those issues being addressed by Bonafide regardless, are the sign of an amazing company that I would buy a product from any day, and I am pretty particular about whose products I buy. In 2023 my only concern with the SS127 is with the transducer mounting. I plan on a NMEA integration between a Lowrance 9 Elite or HD and a MotorGuide Xi3 w/GPS on my kayak, and so far all my research has turned up hokey wood or 3D printed below the hull mount solutions, none of which say one way or another if it both sits low enough to fully take advantage of the side imaging, or if it does, will it be destroyed if I hit something or forget to remove it before trailering. To me, that is the only reason we are looking into the Outback or PA12/14's (for the Hobie Guardian mounts), which as you point out, these kayaks cost considerably (exponentially) more than a SS127 and only come with pedal drives. Which we are not interested in, so we would end up with huge holes in the floors of our kayaks if we go the Hobie route. It is actually quite funny, but what you gave as a negative at the time back in 2019, the lack of a pedal option, now works against Hobie, which only offers fishing Kayaks with them, when many folks are now moving to advanced trolling with spot lock, and Torqeedo, or Bixby solutions for those long runs across the lake. Anyhow, I enjoyed your review very much but noticed you are not posting much anymore. I hope you get back into it! Thanks
