This is what all the fuss is about? I guess people have nothing better going on in their own lives than to try to dunk on another human being a human. We all make mistakes, shit happens, you own up to it, and you move on. Exactly as they did. Half of you out there giving them hell over the mistake would probably freeze, break down and cry and ask to leave to leave the stage so you can go to your safe space if you were faced with any level of scrutiny over even the tiniest of mistakes.
@SxSxG666
@SxSxG666 9 күн бұрын
Tiny mistakes!? :) It's out of tune out of tempo and worst of all out of passion. You don't deserve to headline Hellfest (or any festival) with such a bad performance. Not even if you used to play in a cool band 30 Years ago. I am not willing to pay the high asking price for a ticket to see occupational therapy for ageing rock musicians in their end life crisis.
@jimmyroberts4813
@jimmyroberts4813 9 күн бұрын
It wasn't "out of tune". It was definitely the wrong notes at a time where Kirk's part is front and center. If either of their guitars were "out of tune" their entire set would sound like shit. Every part of every song would sound dissonant. And the song doesn't very "out of tempo" to me, but no, I haven't pulled out my metronome and compared it to the original recording 🙄 You are demanding perfection from a bunch of 60 year old dudes. They deserve all the credit they get because they've walked the walk. You're just being a jackass out of willful ignorance. You don't have to like Metallica, but to expect they should never make a mistake is ridiculous and unreasonable. I'm sure if you listen to alllllllll the other performances at this festival, they are not the only ones that made any mistake. But they're the first to get shit on because they are held at such a standard. They headline the show because they are the biggest name. Not because they never make any mistakes. Why do you think they're held to such a standard? Don't get the wrong idea. It's not Metallica that I am necessarily defending. It's the ignorance and lack of compassion that so many people display that I have a problem with. Stop living in a dream world where everything is so black and white and this idea of perfection exists. Not just the idea, but the expectation and demand for it. It only exists in your head. I watched Polyphia play in November of last year. Phenomenal, highly skilled and talented musicians. Yet, they made many mistakes at their show. Missed notes. The occasional wrong note. Tim's guitar at times had no signal. I guess by your perceived standard of excellence, they would have been a massive failure too.

@@jimmyroberts4813 If you don't "hear" the overall bad performance you are certainly no musical person. I don't need any tools to identify the fact that nothing about this performance is good or even acceptable. Do you think it is just a funny coincidence that the band became a meme? They lost all their favour with the former fans for a reason. Do I respect what they have achieved? Yes I do. But the magic has been gone for decades. The whole show was without heart or passion and if you don't feel that or if you don't mind it it's fine by me. Your standards for entertainment seem to be quite low. Lucky you.

People really are pathetic. Musicians are human too. Mistakes happen because we are not a perfect species. No one, not even the high and mighty naysayers talking negatively about this performance is immune to that. It's like if this festival or one of the bands at this festival "isn't to your liking" then why not go find a festival with bands that you like? Why waste your time angry and upset here when you could be enjoying yourself elsewhere? What's the point in talking shit about this festival and Metallica in particular? I think some people are just angry individuals and they want to be seen and heard. But when they try to be seen and heard, they do it in the wrong way, get negative attention, which just further feeds their aggression. When all they had to do in the first place was just decide to use their time better and surround themselves with what they enjoy rather than what they don't. People really blow my mind with how hard they try to bring someone or something else down just because they don't like it. It never occurs to them that maybe this isn't "for them". Not everything has to be. Just like rap music isn't "for me". But you don't see me going out of my way to go tell the people who enjoyed watching their favorite artists perform how terrible that artist was and how many mistakes they made. It's a giant waste of my time and it will only piss off the people who you are attacking. Why would I want that? Why would I want to waste my time attacking something or someone else just because I don't like it, when I could instead just go enjoy the things I do enjoy? I guess if you just don't enjoy anything there may a problem though...

@@jimmyroberts4813 Dude what a wall of text to say nothing. Couldn't find a single comment that badmouthed the Hellfest in general. If you don't wanna get judged after delivering an absolute shit show you better don't headline one of the biggest metal festivals. Make place for better acts who spend some time rehearsing. This is nothing but disrespectful to your (former) fans, to yourself and to the gods of heavy metal. From a technical point of view it was literally the worst headliner show I've ever experienced on any festival any genre.
