This will depend on the machine and laminating film you are using. A good machine with high quality rollers combined with a quality laminating film will not give a scratched result. Hope this helps!

Worth the extra $ though as it is heavy duty, has Chevron Australian manufactured glass and many features other cheaper machines don't. We have been using ours in our trade finishing house for a year now and find it 3 - 5 times faster than mounting with a laminator. Tried the cheaper units and they don't work :(
