You should use a 164 starter because it’s lighter and more compact. All it needs are a an adapter which I have a template for.
@mydogsareannoying2 ай бұрын
Hopefully I wont need to worry about it anymore but if I do I will look into that. Thanks for the tip!

In your video thumbnail you have a photo of a non-stock starter. Did you use that?
@mydogsareannoying2 ай бұрын
It ended up not working with my exhaust unfortunately. I ended up taking my original starter out and getting it refreshed.

I reckon a carbon-epoxy driveshaft would reduce the rotational inertia that makes gear-changing difficult and wears out the synchros too. I saw where someone changed it out, removed the mid mount and reconfigured the gear change linkage. Nice sound though.
@mydogsareannoying2 ай бұрын
Yeah I have been looking for this solution. Seems the best route is to go to straight cut gears when I eventually rebuild the trans.
@grantsutherland67982 ай бұрын
@@mydogsareannoying possibly, but when meshing between engine shaft and gearbox primary, in a car with no driveshaft between engine and gearbox, when the load comes off there is very little rotational energy involved that must decay. The theory of reducing rotational inertia (based on mass and radius), should be to reduce the diameter and the mass so that the major contributor to rotational inertia is drastically reduced. This is IMO, your first port of call

Fabuleuse vidéo qui rend hommage à cette sonorité merveilleuse que nous avions régulièrement la chance de croiser dans les années 80-90. Merci pour ce travail de rendu, c'était ça l'ambiance du GTV6.

Very nice. The original exhaust sound always reminds me of a trumpet orchestra howl 👍. One tip: for your own safety aginst a whiplzash, turn up your head rest. I have such a car for 30 years already and most spare parts triple. I took it apart for a restauration. The second model (1984-1987) has better seats that support better under the knees. Always keep such cars original. Regards from a 🇳🇱 living in 🇧🇪

Hi, I have an 1988 Alfa Romeo Milano Automatic! And the fuel pump is dead! The car starts with spraying fuel into the injection system. Do you think that the pump is in the same place since the GTV6 is similar? I'm not spending thousands on it, since my car is in rough paint condition.
