I want to try this.. so I saw many videos and they have half boiled the potatoes and you didn’t. Why is that?
@JuneMolloy
@JuneMolloy Жыл бұрын
Loads of reasons! Firstly, there's no need to, so why give yourself the extra work? Also, wedges are small and have an uneven shape, so will cook quickly and unevenly. It is highly likely they will overcook, at least in parts, and then break up. Finally, wedges need a certain amount of cooking time to get golden and crispy on the outside - this time is more than enough to cook the inside perfectly. Hope that helps! June.

It does a things , 1 of us kills any bacteria to keep fresh longer & makes roasting time less , ie. " Pre. Prep 😂😂 the insides ,2 adding spices prior to freezing ,allows flavors to seep into spuds,

Pigs are fascinating (no matter if domesticated or wild). Personally I would be as far as possible from them in nature (especially sows with piglets). But here it just seems like family picknick!

Did you peel the potatoes?
@JuneMolloy

I did. But you don't need to, if you like skin on your wedges. Just give them a good scrub and dry them thoroughly before you cut them.

Thank you for the video! My potatoes turned black when I cooked them. Is there any way to stop them from turning dark?
@JuneMolloy
@JuneMolloy 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Joanie. All ovens are a bit different, so maybe your oven was a bit too hot. Try turning it down about 10 or 20 degrees, and keep an eye on them. Also, thicker wedges tend to work better than skinny ones, which can get crisp around the edges very easily. Hope you find a solution that works!

How should I react if I meet wild boars by accicendt in the forest? (Sorry for my English, I'm German)
@JuneMolloy
@JuneMolloy 2 жыл бұрын
The most important thing is to remain calm as if you panic and start running you might spook them. Try to back away calmly and they will most probably ignore you. Mothers with young piglets can easily be spooked, so keep as far away from piglets as possible. Like most wild animals, they will only attack if they feel threatened. Hope that helps!

Crimsonnaire, yes - they really are quite tame when they trust you. I had to dress in clothes owned by the doctor (the guy doing the feeding) so I wouldn't smell strange to them. They just shuffled around at my feet, paying me no attention. These are wild boar (sus scrofa) - a sounder (group) of adult females and their offspring at various ages.
