Watch the special on Hulu, the Vow of Silence the assassination of Annie Mae, he was married to her and had 2 children with her and cheated on her both from Nova Scotia... she ended up dead as a result of his discretion looks like the same guy...

Great podcast. Looking forward to going back and listening to many more episodes. Calandra Sensei, yes please on the seminars! For those of us that are younger in our martial arts and those who have not trained on Okinawa, I think it so necessary for us to see a bigger picture outside of our dojos and would be greatly appreciative of your time and efforts in sharing your knowledge and experience. Thank you to everyone for the podcast. Happy to have discovered it.

76 i grew up in alberta Tony Martin moved to Alberta and the same town as me in that time period . Tony was a black belt under Monty Guest and we started the first Kai Shin Karate school in Alberta. I feel mabe one sided we trained closer to the Tsiroka style with intesity than many dojos at that time.. We were out in middle of country farm in a old school. Guys from calgary and edmonton came and heard of our school sometime they joined. They would drive two hours to our club twice a week. I loved your show brings me back to the years i follwed to my black. Thank you. I still train at 61 and feel if Kai shin was not for me i would not be here i needed that club really saved alot pain in my life . I also had it in many times i had pain and used movement medicine to heal.

I did some pretty hardcore training under Hanshi Ken Tallack. My black belt grading was about 9 hours long and it was brutal. But it sounds like a cakewalk compared to the way Bill Hind used to train LOL.

Haha yes he definitely took his karate seriously. Congratulations on your black belt

I watch you guy's all the time. This was by far the most touching episode yet! Many people aren't able to see those special moments in life until they know their own life is in jeopardy. The courage shown from Hanshi Joslin is awesome on another level and it's amazing he is leading people to the bible.

Thank you for dedicating yourselves to the martial arts in this format. As far as this video is concerned, however, as Itosu's biographer, I am sorry to say that it contains many errors and anachronisms - starting with the opening photo, which shows Japanese fencing master Miyake Sango and not Itosu Ankō (1831-1915). The photo issue was corrected several years ago. It is very important to make this clear, otherwise such kind falsehoods based on incorrect sources and interpretations regarding Itosu will continue to spread.
@pkcc4 ай бұрын
Hi Mr. Feldmann, thank you for reaching out to us with these comments including the photo discrepancy. We'd love to have you on the show to correct the record and chat with us about Itosu. Please reach out if you are interested and we'll arrange the details.

@@pkcc Sure, let's do this. I just finished my book about Yabu Kentsu and started promoting it but will certainly find time to also talk about Itosu Anko. To arrange the details we should switch to email. Just let me know your address. Many thanks - Thomas
