I ride a 2011 KLR 650, and i found a channel that loves the Lord, spreads the word and rides a KLR 650 on epic off road adventures while doing it!?! I'm definitely subscribing! Love it! As a side note, i have been warned about Bible versions that have altered Romans 11:13 and the NKJV is one of those. I recommend the KJV or the NIV bible because Paul is THE apostle to the Gentiles, singular. And he's like my second favorite person in the Bible. God Bless, and i love what yer doing here! 🙏🏍

Nice vid. It was disappointing to see you want to visit public lands, and the government closing off nearly every road. They treat it like it's their private property, but the area belongs to the citizens of America.

I've seen others complete the AZPT on motorcycles, but mostly dual-sport thumpers that are half the weight of your KLR. Also, they carried very little luggage. Deep sand is a beast, that's for sure. I know the "stand on the pegs, go faster" advice, but when you have to turn, that doesn't work; as soon as you slow for the turn, the bike sinks in. Easy solution would be to take a dual-sport with someone following you in a SxS, carrying the gear for both of you; that way, you could go super light & fly through most sections.

I've owned a KLR & I've traversed the Peace Trail; you're a better man than me if you can do it with a KLR.

I think you've committed the common new adv rider sin. You've packed too much shit on to your bike. If you don't use it, lose it.

Oy. We attempted this in our 4x4 sprinter van. Holy hell it was a SLOW go for us. We had to skip a lot and only finished half in 1 week. Fun to watch someone actually do it.

It's cool to see you out there trying it and getting after it but I'll admit, this was painful to watch. I wish I could've been there to tell you what to do and give you guidance etc. I'm saying this as a Dad who just went with his son to buy him his first motorcycle and I rode it home for him so he could learn in a safer environment. But I'm glad he's stepping out of his comfort zone and doing it just like you. Take care and be safe!

The faster you go on the sand the easier it is to ride, you may feel like you're going to slip out at times but just mantain the same speed and the bike will straighten itself out. If you freak out and slow down the bike will just dig into the sand and make you stall , then potentially tip over..

You should be going faster and standing up on the pegs. Weight has nothing to do with it. I have a 1200 GS with full camping gear so I'm very heavy. You'll tier less. 😊👍👍 Good job mate.

So a basic tip for soft sand is speed and stand up on the pegs. It's counter intuitive as when you approach stuff that makes you uncomfortable you want to sit down and go slower for more control, but with soft sand that will tired you out more and make it harder, what you want to stand so that you're not adding mass and momentum when the bike wallows around, let the bike kinda find and make it's own path and loosely guide it and you want the speed to go more over the top of it rather than through it. Kinda like how a boat works where the faster it goes the higher out of the water it rides. There are videos out there that explain this stuff way better than I can I recommend looking at a couple to get some different takes. Respect for getting out there and hitting the dirt.

Nice and worthwhile mods! I purchased a '23 KLR and I have done similar mods. I shop around for the best deals to keep the KLR cheapskate owner theme. Yep, the clutch switch bypass makes a big difference, at least to me.

Thanks for bringing us along, I found on my KLR, the first few long rides left me quite sore. Im not sure if the seat just broke in eventually, or if its that i started wearing padded riding shorts (i think the later) but id consider a pair maybe. I get along fine after consecutive 12 hour days now

I went the back way to Mount Lemmon today for the first time. ❤️I went up the main way at least four times. I’m from Maine originally and whenever need to hit my reset button I take a drive up Mount Lemmon

I can apreciate your trip along the Devils Highway. I grew up in the Foothills of Yuma Arizona and , my faily was one of the first to buy land there. Where your family camped at the High Tanks I have been camping there sine about 1982. I know that mountain range as well as the others along your route very well. The Fortuna mine especially has a place in my heart and has a great history with me. Today it looks nothing like it did back in the early 1980's. There was still a lot of artifacts in the area to be discovered such as tin cans and furbniture and even clothing. The water used at that mine was pumped from the colorado river which was a feat in itself. Just to the north of that mine is a little known trail that crosses the mountains. My best friend and I first attempted it 19 years ago. After 3 attempts in 18 years last year on the second of september. a very wet , rainy and cloudy day we finally made it through. It was a major acomplishment for us as we had never had a 4x4 with the capabilitys to actually make it. It's not a trail for any jeep. you must have a excellent co driver / spotter who is willing to move rocks and build roads. We were able to do it in about 18 hours and along the way there is a few left over vehicles from people who did not make it and decided there is no wauy to retrieve their broken trucks. Any way I tell you this because like I said that area has a special place in my heart a alot of really great memories. I explored those mountains and that desert daily growing up and I still do. I also work for the company that built that section of border wall. So you see that desert lives in me as much as I live in it. It always calls me back. Thank you for your video and respecting that desert.

Pro tip, Steer with your ankles while standing up. you are steering to much with your hands. this is what makes your movements to slow. Wanna move left move you left ankle down an let the bike tilt. right ankle to go right and tilt the bike right. easy peasy. Like your attitude. Have fun.

looks like a fun adventure, thanks for sharing. as a phoenixian, been going up there for years, often taking one of a myriad of trail bikes over the years.. lately using a vstrom and doing the same..actually going up next week for 3 or 4 days, due to monsoon season, likely take the truck and a small bike.. gotta love 7000+ ft elevation..

12:50 is the "Chicken Foot" junction. The cabin featured is referred to as the "Ranger's Cabin" it is searchable as such on google. I bagged a nice 3x4 nearby several years ago. Nice shots of the Sonoran Pronghorn at 16:00. Great vid, keep up the good work !

5:34 Glad the "No Target Shooting" was adhered to. I guess the tank was not really a target, but rather, so much lead has let fly over the decades there that the tank just was all that showed the extent in 360 degrees of possible backstops.

We traversed the AZP counterclockwise in the spring of 2021 with our UTVs, only skipping the southern section due to rain. We plan to return for that section, which you've been showing us with your latest videos. Looking forward to the next one!

Another great video, guys! It's amazing all of the old history we have here in Arizona. From prehistoric items like meteor crater and the petrified forest, through the Wild West, and our military (like you showed us today) we are incredibly lucky to be able to explore it all.
