I don’t know if this is correct but I always thought of Gajendra as example of krpa-siddha, because he wasn’t even in a human form when the Lord freed him from his predicament, although of course he had been a devotee previously, but in his elephant life he wasn’t looking for perfection, but in a moment of distress he called out to the Lord and He immediately came

Certainly things can’t function properly without 4 regs and 16 rounds, however, I know of rtvikvadis who do all those things, and mangal arati and krsna-prasada, and distribute Prabhupada’s books and still, they are basically a type of apa-sampradaya. How can that be? The only way I could understand this is they are chanting with offenses. It’s quite amazing how things can go wrong even when it seems to be right.

Talking about offenses, recently I was hearing to one of Bhakti Vikāsa Maharaj’s talks on the topic and he mentioned the incident in which Rupa Goswami laughed and a physically disabled devotee thought he was laughing at him and felt offended. Although Rupa Goswami wasn’t actually deriding him, the fact that the devotee took offense affected Rupa’s hability to see the Lord’s pastimes, but certainly wasn’t a bad enough effect that Rupa would completely fall from his position. So based on this I would think the repercussions of offenses can vary, depending on wether or not it was done with bad intention, knowing or unknowingly and also the level of the devotee. For example, insulting a topmost devotee would be worse than insulting a neophyte, but if one thinks he can offend devotees because “they are just neophytes”, that is a very bad attitude in itself that could bring more devastation to his devotional service. Prabhupada also often mentions that a neophyte can fall from his position but a madhyama adhikari cannot fall from his position and that for an uttama there is no question of falling, but one would also expect that more advanced devotees would have proper attitude and not commit deliberate offenses. It seems as well that one could have their devotional service gravely impaired although superficially they continue to carry on the same activities as before, however it could be noticed that it’s like they are deeply covered by a thick wall of ignorance, due to which they cannot properly understand spiritual science and appears to be impossible to change their minds, for example Jiva Goswami calls them acikitsya (incorrigible), which is probably one of the worse things that could happen to someone, they may still worship Deity and do so many things, but their situation is actually very bad. Why would Krishna allow them to continue to be involved in something related to Bhakti? I guess they are still playing some part in the bigger picture, for example, maintaining the Lord’s temple in a context where no one else is available to do so. The story of Pariksit Maharaj also comes to mind, of how taking offenses or consider there have been offenses where actually there weren’t, or not very serious ones, could make things worse than they originally were.

I don’t remember where I saw this, but I think the renounced orders also would depend on varna, for example, sannyasa is for brahamanas, other orders would take only vanaprastha, except maybe for sudras, I’m not sure. It seems not all ashrams are adequate for all varnas, even brahmacaria would not be for all the varnas.

“It is not wonderful for persons who have accepted the transient material body as the self to engage always in deriding great souls. Such envy on the part of materialistic persons is very good because that is the way they fall down. They are diminished by the dust of the feet of great personalities.” SB 4.4.13

If one sees devotees as their bodies (Tamil, American, etc.) he has Vaisnava jata buddhi (an offensive mentality with which he sees Vaisnavas as their bodies). Please be quiet, offender-of-Vaisnavas.

I appreciate the class. One thing I feel should be added to the answer to the question about why the girls were married so early is that by the descriptions in Bhagavatam we can understand that Rukmini and Krishna‘s other consorts like the gopis were fully developed physically. They were not mentally or physically children, but adults. Children today take more time to develop.

In Vedic culture, specially for the higher classes, people didn’t marry because “they fell in love”. In many cases husband and wife had not even seen each other before the day they married. And for the girl specially it’s important that it happens before puberty because when she does develop attraction to someone, that it will be to the person she is already married to. Maharaj stresses this point a lot in Mothers and masters, that people who fall in love also fall out of love and Vedic marriage is not even based on mutual liking, what to speak of “attraction”.

Ah Hungary devotees... I was wondering why was of one them had her saree draped in the style of the showy modern deviated section of ISKCON. In the west, I've observed that only the mtjs at Krishna Life drape their sarees so modestly just as they did during Srila Prabhupada's time. In the future, whoever comes to learn Srimad-Bhagavatam distribution, make it mandatory that they first dress themselves as per Srimad-Bhagavatam. As it is said in the video, all your activities should centered upon and based on Srimad Bhagavatam.

If you are doing great on your sankirtan, you don't have to use derogatory words like sissy to uplift yourself at the expense of others.. Yiou are dustributing books? Good. you are chanting 16 rounds. Good.. But you have to be careful using offensive words like sissy. You live with karmis and all kinds of devotees. You have exercise and show your kindness, not berate ot degrade others.

It is like Krishna telling Arjuna to not be a sissy. In fact Krishna said things more rough than sissy
@brihmendiola43472 ай бұрын
@@AnkurSethi108That was 5000 years ago. You have to adapt to your environment now whether you are a devotee or not. Arjuna killed thousands in that war. If you can kill thousands and be pure like him, yes maybe you can call others sissy.

I understand that your comment is coming from a good place. However, I'll just say one thing: a Sadhus words are sharp like a razor, but his heart is soft like butter. we have to rise over our ego and do what needs to be done - and at time, harsh words are what we need. Besides, you have to remember that this video was made at the request of a TP of a temple in Delhi! So the TP must have mentioned what the situation is! And what the mindset it. Depending on someone's internal nature/mindset - they must be dealt with in similar manner. Utility is the principle! Nothing, in itself is wrong - what makes it good/bad is it's application. The word here is applied to get people off and out on Sankirtana 🙏

@@shrutichaturvedi2603 My reply is coming from my heart. If you are a devotee, you should be vigilant, mindful and aware of the words you are using especially in KZbin, especially at present time when one bad word can destroy somebody's life, devotee or karmi.
@p007t2 ай бұрын
@@brihmendiola4347if you're a snowflake, then probably your should go open your own society where everyone would use words like "wonderful" and "awesome" a lot. The attitude should be that "whatever a sadhu says, I'd accept it because it is being said with my best interest at heart". You don't have the right to dictate what the sadhu says to you. You only have the choice either to listen or start walking.
