Correct. ACLs via UI. You can add weights/costs/distances to routing peers. And open source. Means you can selfhost the management server.

@@hugo-co5zd ACL, very very easy group management, keys can add client to a especific group, having different expirations too. Routing by ACL,... 👏

@@netbirdio Great! Then I will use it instead of Tailscale. The only problem why I can not use NetBird right now is becouse in my remote home I only have Windows machine and old Synology NAS. There is no NetBird package for NAS and no routing on windows. Will be waiting for update.

Where can people turn for a NetBird support community? There's a link on your website to join a slack group, but the link is expired. There's a Reddit group but I'm not allowed to make a post there, and no new posts for close to one year. Most questions on Github receive no replies. I don't see any other communities. Thanks.

I am having a domain server which is having IP as 192.168.1.X and other devices on lan has same ip config. All the PCs in the lan has access to the domain server and can access the shared file. Now in one of the laptop connected to another network is outside of the domain server lan. With other VPNs i can access the shared drive but when i connect to netbird peer network i am not able to access the shared drive on the domain server. Can you please guide what i have to do in this?

Is it possible to use a NetBird peer as a gateway for multiple devices on a private network? Essentially, the reverse of a routing peer (allowing a private network to reach resources via a single NetBird peer).

Many thanks for this comprehensive tutorial - great piece of software! Do you also offer kind of "Exit Nodes" which are e.g. used in "Netmaker" to manage the networks behind?

Please consider learning a bit about youtube audio levels. This video is at -15.2 dB - while better than your video that was -38dB, it is still far too low. This means when we try to play your video, we have to crank up volume on our side because your audio is so low. Then, when we view a video that has been properly adjusted, we get blasted because our volume was raised to hear yours. KZbin does NOT auto-level the audio on videos that are uploaded with low sound to bring the audio up, but it DOES bring the audio DOWN for videos that had their levels too high. Volume issue aside, I like where you're going with this project and hope to see more home labbers and people in general create some videos on this in order to get you more exposure.

Unfortunately, the data throughput is a disaster, as with Tailscale: copying a 1.3 GB iso with rsync from an internal Ubuntu Server to a Cloud Ubuntu Server took almost 15 minutes (1.61 MB/s), the same the other way around (15 minutes, 1.57MB/s). With Netmaker (also a virtual network solution with Wireguard) I copy 4 GB in less than 5 minutes! If this is a P2P connection (both systems are connected via the NetBird website), I wonder what is constantly pulling the brakes here...
