Turn your traction control off or at least to it's lowest setting.

Nice work in the mud and water sections on those big bikes...not easy. I am curious as to why that mud didn't ball up on the tires and wedge up under your front fender? If I recall those AT front fenders are considered a low fender.

Drops are just part of riding what we ride. You did it and no one can take that from you.....
Looks more like a dual sport route than adventure bike. Bet you were tired and hungry after all that!

Nice roll :^-) May be it can be easier if you stand on the pegs?

Looks like fun. Is the entire road currently passable or did you guys turn around? I'm looking to pass through in a couple weeks and wanted to check this out
@peterdonaldson30303 жыл бұрын
It is all passable. We did not turn around.

Peter, how long did it take you to ride Section 4? I'm going up in two weeks to ONLY ride section 4 on an SWM - about 150 lighter than you dry and I am not carrying gear. I'm coming off shoulder surgery 2 months and worry this might be too much just yet. Thanks
@peterdonaldson30303 жыл бұрын
Can't remember exactly but around 8 hours. Check the weather before you go. If lots of rain I would make sure you have the hard section alternates loaded in your GPS and use those. If you decide to do a hard section and it gets to be to much just turn around and take the easy alternate. You will be fine on everything else.

It's a catch 22 - you have to go faster to keep the bike up, but your front tire washes out every time you do it. I plan to do this trip someday and this makes me more certain I'll be using my DR-Z to do it.

You guys did great. That’s pretty much my worst nightmare on a big bike.
@OffRoadQC3 жыл бұрын
What tires did you have on the AT?
@peterdonaldson30303 жыл бұрын
Motoz Tractionators with about 40% tread left
@paultaylor67613 жыл бұрын
Have you tried doing that standing on the pegs?
@peterdonaldson30303 жыл бұрын
Yup but the falls are more often and father when you are standing on the pegs in rocky wet muddy conditions cause my short legs make it hard to dab when standing.

Peter you folks did a super job getting those big bikes thru those slipper wet muddy rocks and mudholes. I would be scared to death I would get stuck and not be able to get the bike out. One thing to go thru on 250 but a whole different ballgame on a big bike fully loaded. Bravo for making it thru and bravo for sharing :-)
