If you want to do Doordash and looking st this bike, I would recommend a scooter. Trust me half the job is getting off and on the bike. It becomes a pain. Scooters are much easier for that. Plus on a scooter you can install a box and have underseat storage as well. For weekend daytrips around the hills though this would be ace.

I got a 650 adventura in the us 3 days ago. Im a 1st time rider. For the price im in love.The gps brakes and bags are great. Maintenance is pretty much do it yourself. The seat isnt comfortable for long rides (2hours plus) but there not terrible. The heat soak at the legs and the boggy power around 2-3k is a bit annoying. But a tiger or versays is almost 2xs as much. The cf also has good breaks on the adventura. I thought id regret buying chinese but i love it. Maintenance is easy

This is a most silly, ignorant and uninformed review. sounds like you never heard of extras. On every single motor vehicle you pay extra on top of the basic configuration for extras like quickshift, cruise control, etc. Do you think that when you buy the quickshift on the Tuareg somebody opens the engine to physically install it, rather than just flick an electronic switch in the ecu? The problems with these bikes are well different and well more serious than this

I had shortlisted the Norden 901 Exp and Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro. For the supposed better off-road handling of the Norden and claimed front end instability off-road of the Tiger I was opting for the Norden. I don’t buy into believing pub/cafe shit talking about KTM and blind brand loyalty to all thing Jap (I have a Husky 500) but…. In this case it seems there is indeed something to the talk that KTM/Husky is having an unreasonable amount of early cam shaft wear and failures starting at about 25000 km. Due to the release year of the Norden these are now coming up. Conversely I am now not convinced Tiger front end instability off-road (claimed by some short ride reviewers and new owners) is a rake angle issue as much as a new rider running out the factory 50/50 tires before putting decent off-road biased tires on issue And of course a change to less suited tyres and being on a bike with different ergos, power delivery etc all contribute to tucking the front end in. I can learn to ride to the capabilities and idiosyncrasies of a bike..I can’t afford to replace post warranty cam shaft issues or a be bothered dealing with avoidable catastrophic breakdowns in remote areas. I went from proper knobbies to 70/30 off-road biased tyres on my 500, tried to ride like I did on the knobbies and guess what - front end instability and tuck-ins on the slippery bends. In short I am now going to get the Tiger 900 Rally Pro.

I had a 2020 790 that I put nearly 30k km on, had the tech pack on that (price was the same or similar, no demo mode). I used all the features - rally mode, quick shifter, cruise control, etc - so when I eventually got the 2023 890 I was always going to get the tech pack. To be fair, it’s not as expensive in the US but I think if prospective owners are considering it, you can also buy individual bits of it rather than the whole deal I believe. I also don’t think the stock norden comes with the same suspension as the 890 R. Still if the more touring focussed screen, seat, grips is valuable to you then the norden is a much better deal. The 890 is more targeted at doing silly things offroad on a big bike than it is at covering miles.
@JayHenderson749
@JayHenderson749 Ай бұрын
@@DanielACroft as far as we asked, the 890's tech pack isn't able to be broken down. The standard norden doesn't have the same suspension as the 890R, however the norden expedition lists the same WP XPLOR suspension upgrade as the Adventure R, The only difference between the exp and the 890R is claimed weight and having done considerable time offroad on the standard husky myself, i feel you'd have to be a well above average rider capability to really notice the difference. At that point, the KTM would be better offroad. Though the husky is more than capable in most situations average riders will put it through in the scrub, and im sure with a change in wind protection, the KTM is just as capable doing big miles.

@@JayHenderson749 Yeah, that all makes sense. Thanks. I have my 890 set up for silly things offroad, but I could have done the same on a norden with similar results I think. It’s a shame that the bits & pieces aren’t available independently. :-/

What your dealer failed to mention is that the KTM tech pack is negotiable, as the price is not fixed by KTM while on the Husky is already included in the bike price. We have often offers here in EU where the tech pack (contains rally mode, MTC, CC and QS+) is actually given for free (and they mention in the brochure 1000 EUR buyers advantage bullshit). Personally I got my tech pack on my 890 adv 23 for 400 Eur which is 300 EUR cheaper than what is in the KTM catalogue at the dealers, plus an overall 20% discount on the powerparts accessories list price and a marginal discount on the bike price (as when I bought it it was just launched. The reason the optional packs exists is to give the dealers leverage over consumers by offering them "discounts", it's not KTM being evil, it's the concept of dealerships existing and it applies to most dealerships. In the end the bikes run just fine without the packs. In a world with buy directly from manufacturer, the concept of haggling disappears and what you speck on the order form is what you get, but when you need dealers to sell you bikes, they also need to make profit and the most profit they make in case of KTM is trough the optional packs that buyer have no clue they could haggle on.

Ahh the old break in discussion. In this case if you stick to those revs it'd be dangerous on the road. Babying a new engine can be bad for it. Its a hugely debated topic and i did read that part of the manual, Though with this bike, limiting to 4000rpm simply isn't doable on the road. It doesnt make any power until 6000 and it only does about 45-50 in top gear at 4k. I believe that limit is in the manual purely for liability reasons.
