How much does this cost? 20k?

@@batmikipig I'm not sure what a new one costs, but I seem to recall it's north of 40k. So yeah, pretty spendy. The one I have is 2008-ish CalTrans machine (California Highway maintenance group, used for mowing roadside berms and such) that came with hillside ranch I purchased in Mendocino CA. It's an absolutely ridiculous looking machine, especially mine that has had a really hard life (no hood, "extra" wires hanging out of it, belches smoke, etc.), but is kind of a blast to drive and is frankly an awesomely effective slope mower. It takes an absolute beating on the gopher holes, drainage ditches, rocks, and 3" tree branches I drive over. I've cut through acres of brush that stands taller than the hood. She's a beast. As a mechanical engineer I really appreciate the super clever design of this thing - it would never have occurred to me to design such a contraption, but I'm really glad someone did way back in the day. It's the only machine that can really handle my property. I'm hoping I can keep it running for many more years. I'd love to find a newer used one as a backup/replacement as I can't afford a new one as much as I would love to. I did have to weld the frame back together under the drivers position as it had developed fatigue cracks completely through one side and about halfway through the other. It was close to splitting in two when I got it, but it's solid again. We call her "Wheezy" to honor the old DeWeze name.

Eoin, depending on how the bales are stored. For example, if you want to move individually wrapped bales, our spinners will rip the plastic; now, bales in a silage tube, you can move easily.

Removable spikes on the arm bed make it easier to pull bales out that are stacked in a line, without causing any disturbance to the net wrap!
