I've actually asked radiant players/coaches about this exact situation because I've heard various things too! General rule is just do the smoke I do because it forces them to run into a cross from graffiti <-> hell. When you do the deeper smoke when you have no FULL site control, it can allow the enemy team to peek in and out and kill your A-short players, then get out for free but they can't do that with the smoke I did! I would also recommend doing the deeper smoke if they have no flashes since you can all hold the smoke together but otherwise doing my smoke in the video is the best one *generally*!
