J'ai chez moi en aquarium beaucoup de ces poissons que l'on voit évoluer ici. Pseudotropheus, Labidochromis, Haplochromis, et autres labeotropheus..Quel plaisir de les voir dans leur milieu naturel. Merci beaucoup.

Brother, you have very few subscribers, you deserve many more, to be known throughout the world for your beautiful work, blessings and follow me, I have become a fan of the fish of Tanganyika for your travel greetings from Cuba.

Likely the most interesting sea on the planet! I have kept and bred many cichlids and also other fish from Lake Tanganyika. This sea will never stop to amaze me. For now I keep nothing - I got somewhat discouraged when I learned that one Tropheus-male can have a territory ten meters long (I want to keep the fish as they live in nature). When you "mocked" the shell dweller there, I got reminded of that I have seen a N. multifasciatus attack a fully grown frontosa. The frontosa could have swallowed it whole even on the broad side. They are fearless fish.

Hello Jordan, what species did you find in Cape Kaku? I saw in the images what appears to be Neolamprologus brichard; can confirm that information. I'm setting up a biotope aquarium and I'm looking for information about the fauna. Thank you.

Does anyone know the species of plant at 8:08?
@joaomelo63935 жыл бұрын
Absolutely beautiful. I have a 1200 gallon tanque of African chiclid but fish in the wild in their natural habitat attain much better vibrant colors.

Damn Daffodils everywhere. Those things spread like cancer. I put 4 in a 75 gallon and in 6 months it was 100. With synodontis and calvus eating fry.

Very nice. A lot of known species, but also some truly not suited for a tank. Thanks!
@jokervienna64337 жыл бұрын
This is so strange. All these species actually exist and co-exist in the lake. I have kept many different Tanganyika species and also bred a lot of them. I think my love of the lake and its diverse behaviour will never cease to exite me. No tanks at the moment but thinking of a medium tank (2-300 liters) with N. meleagris and a couple of Synodontis to keep the meleagris on the edge. Thank you for uploading this. It keeps my dreams alive.

Hello, very nice video ! Where is cape Kaku please ?
@jokervienna64337 жыл бұрын
Google is your friend. It is in the southern part of the lake: "Cape Kaku is a point within Zambia and is southeast of Cape Kapembwa and Cape Kabwe Nsolo and east of Chilingala. Cape Kaku has an elevation of 767 metres." mapcarta.com/12699830

you don't need a ferrari. (what I think every time you drive around in a ferrari for an example during the lecture: Hehh. He's intelligent. charming. good looking... actually? a ferrari would ruin the sex appeal - stay with your fish, admiring nature, loving to make biology...!)

I wish I was there even just as a side kick•••lol•••!!!!!! The african cicholids R such an explosive strain . brilliant colours n patterns never ever boring in any aquarium & they sure could make u think you were losing it sometimes (sex changing as well as colors) hey looking in my tank/tanks where did that one come from n where's that other one I had????? but I learned in my 25yrs of them & Discus. Lost my fortune (somewhat) in salt water aqua. But with those 2strains I had my version of spectacular Salt Water! Loved my time with them (money n time well spent) keep on with your discovery's n hope all is somewhat well with nature n not 2 F---UP. Thanks4sharing

Yeah, crocs are always a problem. In one of my early videos from Lake Tang in 2008 I have footage of our solution - throw rocks at the water in a pathetic attempt to scare them off!
@lyndonjordan11 жыл бұрын
The eels are all Mastacembelus sp., otherwise called Tanganyikan Spiny Eels. They're pretty annoying when doing research, because they follow you around and try to eat the fish you flush out.
@majorbruster59166 ай бұрын
Actually, my friend Rob Travers reclassified the Tanganyikan species as Afromastacembalus years ago. Mastacembalus is restricted to India and parts of Asia.
