The old MGC 45 ACP was the best metal replica of this famous firearm. I bought my first back in 1982 from the old 'Quartermaster at the Angel' surplus store in London. MGC did two versions, the standard with the wording 'model of a Colt 45' and Japan stamped onto the left side(?) and the delux version with all the stampings of the real weapon although both stripped like the original but the delux version accepted original 45 mags. Brilliant replicas.

Obviously you can't fire around, it's not going to have a firing pin, but can you put rounds in the magazine and cycle them through the gun

Mine came with a damn orange plastic plug in the barrel. Jabbed it out after lighting it with a lighter now its stuck in the barrel, but since it cant fire I suppose thats fine.

@@theodorechillIt's made of cheap cast metal lol. If you somewhere managed to, it would probably blow up in your hand the second you pull the trigger.

Wouldn't blow up but it wouldn't have a long life either. And the machining itself would be a pain in the butt. Youd probably be better off making one from scratch

Great replica! I don't have the Denix .45 but I do have an Italian version called the "Kimar 911", plus a high-quality Japanese copy. All fun to play with! Especially if you also get the leather regulation-issue holster with flap and green web belt. The .45 Auto was used by all branches of the U.S. military in WW2 and beyond.

If you are asking what the Japanese brand was, I have no idea. There is no brand mark on either the gun or box it came in. The dealer I bought it from, Collector's Armoury years ago, is however a long-standing and reputable dealer. They said it was imported from Japan and i remember it cost more than other versions.@@martinshaju3851

yep agree. Would not cost much for cheap wooden box with a little bit of velvet inside. Would make storing and displaying to firends a whole lot better
