It's a 3M 4100 Supershine pad....mix lutefisk with peroxide-soda (Norwegian trick). On a serious note Mr. Hardwater Powder that you mix into a paste works well, MBStoneCare's "Easy Scrub" works well, "nothings better"-hard water spot remover works well, Glass Renu Cerium Oxide works well. I'm not in the business of selling the products, in my neck of the woods (Bainbridge Island-Gig Harbor etc.) hard water mineral deposits are really tough to remove (the typically pinterest hacks of vinegar, dryer sheets, acids, etc. kind of just laugh at people's efforts. This video is more of a "it's possible and here's how we do it so please hire us so we can feed our kids" than it is a training video for d.i.y.ers. Mr. Hardwater's channel has the best videos and products for that route in my opinion. I've spent thousands of dollars on his products through the years but I've probably saved over a million dollars in shower glass over the last 15 years of polishing and sealing hundreds of shower glass doors every year.

Gotta "curl" the blade, start with a fresh blade and don't flip it. Most people don't cut themselves shaving and if they do it's small. Same thing here. If it's scratching that means the blade is catching & you can feel it. This process is still way faster...as Thomas Sowell says "there are no solutions only trade offs"

There's a chance you just cleaned an area via the vinegar and you removed a layer of build up. I'd that's the case then deep cleaning everything with a product like MB StoneCare's "Easy Scrub" would do the trick. That would be worth trying 1st. (Before attempting to refinish)

At last! The only right answer to removing ugly soap scum! I have wasted so much time trying to find out how to clean those stains out of my sink. Yes I tried some products I shouldn't have, but nothing worked so it didn't get a chance to really damage sink and shower. And wasting money on those stone cleaners and polishers - felt I was just putting another layer on top. Can't believe the stuff that scrapped off. And I've removed the soap bars. Thank you sir!

Hello. If there is an actual stain that occured on the underside of a white marble tile, is there any way at all to fix the stain, it is about 3/4 of the 18 inch tile on the underside (it is not grouted, it's just a couple of unmounted tiles) and the stain is orangeish. I believe it's hard water/iron in nature (rust type). Would I be able to soak it in 3 parts water 1 part bleach? or something of the sort. The worse part is removing a coating - I will not touch a stone with a coating - too messy to remove.

It's very difficult to get a uniform honed look via etching. It is also dangerous to spread large amounts of acid, which can cause more harm than the good you're after. That being said I have seen matble floors that vinegar has been used repeatedly for years and the floors have looked uniform in sheen, and filthy since vinegar is a terrible stone cleaner. (Alkaline or pH neutral work much better) Honing a floor the correct way is not very difficult with a floor machine and diamond resin abrasives and honing powder.

Just got done with cleaning the glass shower doors of our fiberglass shower. Just bought the house back in 2020, built in 2006. Easily 10 years of buildup. I started out using 0000 steel wool and mild cleaner, then spraying with CLR--But the soapscum and mineral deposits were too thick. Switched over to Bar Keepers Friend and a microfiber rag and just scrubbed away. Looks like new and the steel wool cleaned up the aluminum frame in no time. Now I'm moving onto the fiberglass shower and the kids' tub. I'll give the razorblade a try. If that doesn't work, I think I'll test some automotive cutting compound and a rag. Bar Keepers Friend did wonders on the toilets as well. I've gone as far as using 0000 steel wool and acid to clean the inside of the bowl in the past, but the previous owners had 4 kids and the water here is very hard and I couldn't get progress fast enough with that method. Bar Keepers Friend nailed it with about 10 minutes of scrubbing with the toilet brush.

I haven't cleaned my tub or shower in years! And they look like new! How often do you clean soap scum from the inside of your dish washer? How about from inside your washing machine? Correct, never. The best way to clean soap scum is never get it in the first place. Chunk all your bath soap and only use liquid soap. The main ingredient in bar soap is Sodium tallowate. Sodium tallowate is a true soap made by combining the fatty tissue (or tallow) of animals, such as cattle and sheep, with lye, typically sodium hydroxide". It's pure white animal fat that holds the soap in a clump. It sticks to the tile or tub and water will not run over it. Sits there and the water evaporates and leaves mineral deposits on the fat. Repeat a few times and you have "soap scum". Liquid soap or "detergent" holds oily skin residue in suspension and it washes everything away when you rinse. Just like your clothes or dish washer. Also an added benefit is that your drains will never clog up!!
