So germs don't just sneak in through random door seals or internal building openings but from a controlled place ie a vent ? but the room still needs a filter on its own besides the buildings stand alone filtration system... would a bidirectional filter be useful or would it prevent vent or duckwork valves that simply really on static pressure to open or close to fail ...so they need a vent valve with a ball joint style knob ...

Does learning this knowledge alone make you employable as an HVAC engineer, or do you also need an engineering degree? I completed the HVAC program at my local community college and learned a lot of these topics. The program I took prepares you to be an HVAC technician. Do I need to go further in my education and complete an engineering program at a university to be an HVAC engineer?
@aeclearn
@aeclearn 5 ай бұрын
The answer is not simple. You can be a HVAC Engineer without a 4-year bachelor’s degree and get a job. However, getting a job when you have both the knowledge and the engineering degree is much more easier. Also, you grow in your job faster if you have an engineering degree.

We are also using E-20 Excel sheet for load Calculations and Ductulator for Duct and pipe sizing. Thanks AEC for sharing such informative videos. I am studying to become an HVAC engineer now. The pay isn’t quite as high here in Sweden but I’m still looking at making much more than I do now. Demand seems very high here. Having that experience will help you in understanding the overall work or project life cycle. Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Mechanics are the courses that you need to become an HVAC Engineer. So if a 4 year program teaches you hose courses, then yes, it is worth taking a 4-year program

I'm not sure if HAP 6.0 should be in the running at this point. I've been using HAP 3.x, 4.x, and 5.x for about 25 years now, and just tried to hop to HAP 6.0 (took the 2-day Carrier webcast course and everything) - and I feel like it's just not ready for primetime. If a building is really simple it's maybe okay - but I was trying to use it on a building with different wall heights from one side to the other, gable ends, etc., and it doesn't want to model that sort of complex geometry. HAP 6.0 wants a constant wall height, etc., for each zone. Bottom line, in HAP 5.x I can specifically input how much wall/window/roof I want for each space - and that's just not an option in 6.0. Maybe they'll fix it up for 6.1 though, hopefully.
