cambodia is infamous for modern day slavery of indians being lured there for job take their passport and force them to scam people worldwide (often indians themself) by chinese. cambodia is a bridge country they have good relation with india.

♦ I plan to go to Cambodia for 2-3 days on my way back from China to India in October as I found the air tickets will be much less if I come via Phnom Penh than coming via Bangkok or Singapore (via Vietnam is also cheap, but I hv already visited the whole of Vietnam many times). This way I can add a new country to my list of visited countries. But seeing your video, I have to think again now. When you have traveled to so many countries and those visa stamps were in ur passport, then not carrying $500 cash makes no sense for denying your entry. Under any circumstances, you would have to pay for your expenses which will always help the economy of Cambodia. I really feel sorry for you, and I feel sorry for that country because these kinds of experiences will deter many more tourists in the future. This is not at all any kind of progressive attitude on their behalf.

ATM is at the Airport where you lodge your visa application. I think your issue was no return ticket.

Thanks for all the information. I can clearly see unfairness towards Indians. Looks like it also depends on the whims & fancies of the immigration officers, corruption is another issue. I have not travelled much abroad but during whatever little travelling I have done, I have never faced such problems in Singapore, Schengen countries and the UK. I was thinking of planning a trip to Cambodia but now after seeing your video I am dropping the idea. There are no direct flights between India & Cambodia, that is also a problem. Maybe I will visit Vietnam or Thailand and forget about Cambodia. Mood kharaab ho gaya.
